Welcome to Pori. One of our new data center facilities in the Nordics, with a unique backstory. On the side of the road, a rocky hillside rises from the landscape, covered with forest on top. Carved out of solid bedrock by the Finnish Defense Forces in the 1960’s, its nine tunnel halls were built to store military ammunition, but were never used for that purpose. Today, Glesys operates 8,500 m2 of this underground space as modern server infrastructure, with a total site capacity of 11 MW and room for both shared and dedicated deployments. The site runs on 100% renewable energy, with an on-site solar plant on top of the facility contributing to the mix. Welcome to Pori datacenter, a better place for data.

The most noticeable thing at CloudFest this year was not one big announcement, but a shift in priorities. In talks with MSPs, engineers, and infrastructure teams, the focus has shifted from growing bigger to taking back control. The issue isn’t a lack of capacity, but too much complexity. Here are a few trends we noticed: • Control is no longer a given. It needs to be built into the environment. • Complexity is now a real issue. It affects costs, visibility, and daily operations. • Sovereignty and compliance are now influencing architecture decisions right from the beginning. • Sustainability is shifting from just being a message to actually shaping how infrastructure operates. All of this suggests a new approach to thinking about infrastructure: It’s not just about being flexible and scalable anymore. Now, infrastructure also needs to be understandable, predictable, and built to last.
