GAIA BioMaterials AB

This is not a plastic box! It looks like plastic. Feels like plastic. Has most of the good properties of plastic. But it’s not like plastic. It is made of Biodolomer. A patented Swedish material based on limestone. It does not result in microplastics. It contains no PFAS. It releases 80 % less CO² than plastic if incinerated. And it is fully compostable. (certified in both the EU and the US) Biodolomer can be used in most production techniques where traditional plastic is used, and it can be adapted to meet specific requirements. This particular clamshell was produced using thermoforming – a technique commonly used by pharmaceutical companies for products requiring precise and reliable packaging. Arie Wilbers has worked with packaging and animal feeds his entire life, with a strong focus on sustainability in recent years. After testing various materials and solutions, he has come to the conclusion that we need to move away from conventional plastic altogether. “Recycling is not the solution. We need to move to new materials.” Read the interview with Arie here: https://lnkd.in/d6nwAa8r #sustainablepackaging #bioplastics #greentech #packaging #naturskyddsföreningen

Så kul att se hur fler och fler mataffärer väljer våra starka komposterbara bärkassar. Som är helt fria från mikroplaster och där både material och kassar är tillverkade i Helsingborg. Demand for our compostable, microplastic-free material – Biodolomer – is picking up speed in the US. So we are happy to announce that we've set up a supply hub in L.A. with our distributor Mitsubishi Corporation. More and more companies in the US see the potential in replacing plastic (and cutting up to 80 % on CO2 emissions) in grocery bags, drinking straws, agricultural films, garbage bags, disposable aprons - you name it – with limestone based Biodolomer. Made in Sweden. #Greentech #sustainablepackaging #microplastics #compostable #latour #helsingborg Business Sweden https://lnkd.in/dYEW-424

Recycled plastic is still plastic. Unlike Biodolomer, it will never really disappear. It will still result in microplastics. In our environment. In animals. In our bodies. Biodolomer is the compostable alternative to plastic. Based on Limestone. No microplastics. No PFAS. Certified compostable in both the US and EU. Biodolomer can be used for various production techniques, including film blowing, injection molding, thermoforming, blow molding, and extrusion coating. Make grocery bags, beer cups, drinking straws, agricultural films, food trays, fishing nets... Biodolomer makes it possible to produce strong grocery bags that are liquid proof, but does not result in any micro plastics. That are compostable. Ultra low in CO2. You use the same machines. The same technique. You just change the granules. Get in touch and we'll send samples.
