The next wave of franchise growth isn’t coming from where you'd expect. According to the IFA’s 2025 outlook, the fastest-growing categories this year are: 1. Personal services 2. Business services 3. And, yes, food [but with a twist] This shift says a lot about where the world is heading: ➜ People are outsourcing their time more than ever. ➜ They’re prioritizing wellness and convenience. And small businesses? They’re hungry for outsourced support. From HR to cleaning to cost-cutting. If you're thinking about getting into franchising, ask yourself: ➜ What do I know? ➜ What do I love? ➜ And where is the demand already rising? The opportunity isn't always in the biggest brand. It’s in the right category at the right time. And right now? Service is scaling. 📌 Where does what you know meet what you love? = I’m Ryan Zink. “Is franchising doomed?” I’ve been asked that more than once in the past year. ➜ Rising costs. ➜ AI eating jobs. ➜ Tighter lending. ➜ Labor shortages. ➜ TikTok is convincing everyone they should be part of the gig economy or start a drop-shipping empire. Here’s my answer: No, franchising isn’t doomed. But lazy franchising is. The kind where: ➜ The brand stops innovating ➜ The operators stop adapting ➜ And the system forgets why it exists in the first place But the franchise model itself? It’s one of the most resilient, scalable, and proven business frameworks on the planet. In 2025, it’s still growing faster than the rest of the U.S. economy. (Source:IFA) Why? People want built-in support. They want systems that shorten the distance between idea and income. Franchising isn’t fading. It’s evolving. The next generation of operators just need to think bigger, build smarter, and lead with purpose. Because the model still works. You just have to as well. 📌 What do you think is "doomed" in our economy today? = I’m Ryan Zink. I lead a team of Super Sidekicks on a mission to reduce your risk when buying a franchise. Another round of corporate layoffs… same story, different day. I’ve worked with hundreds of W2 earners who’ve been in this exact spot—tired of the uncertainty, the grind, and building wealth for someone else. The ones who made the leap into franchising? They took control of their futures instead of waiting for the next round of cuts. They invested in proven franchise models that gave them more freedom, security, and a real shot at building their own success. If you’re feeling stuck, you’ve got options. Let’s talk. Drop a comment or DM me if you’re ready to explore what’s next. #w2earners #franchising #jobsecurity #ownyourfuture #buildwealth

From a late night golf idea to 300+ franchise locations in five years. That’s the story of Back Nine, one of the fastest-growing golf simulator franchises in America. In this episode of The Sidekick Life, Tyler Altenhofen and I sat down with Wil S. Bangerter, the founder and CEO, who left his law career to chase a passion for golf and ended up building a nationwide golf movement. What you’ll learn: • How Back Nine scaled from a two-bay simulator to 300+ awarded franchises • The 24/7, no-pressure model that golfers can’t get enough of • The turning point that took them from zero deals to seven figures a month • What early franchisees gained by jumping in early • The future: 1,500+ potential locations We’ve had the privilege of working with the Back Nine team at Franchise Sidekick, and it’s been incredible to watch their growth up close. 🎧 Watch the full episode here: https://lnkd.in/gnyihsC8 📌 What’s your favorite story of someone turning their passion into a thriving business? The #1 reason people say "no" to Franchise Sidekick isn't what you think. Almost 90% of the people we meet with say no to us. And we’re completely OK with that. Starting a franchise is a big deal. We want our “yeses” to be firm. But when they say no? We want to know why. We have a system for capturing those responses. The #1 reason? “Change of circumstances." Do you know what that really means - I do. It's not about circumstances. It's about their fear. [And I get it!] People aren't afraid of franchising itself. It's obviously a model that works. They're afraid of: ➜ Leaving their stable paycheck ➜ What their family might think ➜ Making the wrong choice ➜ Failing publicly ➜ The unknown But here's the thing ... The most successful franchise owners had those exact same fears. The difference? They didn't let assumptions drive their decisions. When someone tells me they're not ready, we don't push. Instead, we ask questions: ➜ What specific information would help you? ➜ Which fears are based on facts? ➜ What timeline feels right for you? ➜ What's the worst-case scenario? ➜ What's the best-case scenario? We know that ... Sometimes it's NOT the right time. Sometimes the fear IS justified. Sometimes waiting IS the answer. Our job isn't to eliminate fear. [That's impossible.] Our job is to help people make decisions based on facts. And if that means waiting? That's okay. Because the right decision at the wrong time is still the wrong decision. 📌 What's the #1 reason people say "no" in your industry? = I’m Ryan Zink. Corporate layoffs are everywhere, and they’re not slowing down. I read an article today in The Washington Post that said U.S. employers have already laid off 1.1 million people in 2025. This is the most since the pandemic recession. This is crazy. And these cuts aren’t happening at struggling startups. They’re happening at the biggest, most respected employers in America. In the last three years: Amazon — 51,000 layoffs UPS — 48,000 layoffs Microsoft — 26,000 layoffs Intel — 24,000 layoffs Meta — 21,000 These are the companies that once represented stability. The “safe jobs” that generations built careers around. That version of work really doesn’t exist anymore. The idea of staying 20 years at one company and retiring with a pension and a gold watch is gone. Corporate loyalty is at an all-time low, and for good reason. Even years after the pandemic, boardrooms are still blaming “over-hiring” as the reason for mass layoffs. But let’s be honest... that excuse expired a long time ago. Today’s layoffs are being driven by: 💻 AI and automation replacing human roles 📈 Corporate obsession with efficiency 💰 Private equity and shareholder pressure When profit margins are the priority, people become expendable. So what do you do when the traditional definition of “career stability” disappears? You build your own. Business ownership is freedom. It’s the ability to decide your future instead of waiting for someone else’s decision to land in your inbox. And while starting from scratch can feel daunting, franchising has become the safest path to business ownership. A model that combines independence with proven systems, training, and support. Because the truth is, freedom isn’t found in corporate titles anymore. It’s found in ownership. The future belongs to the builders. #businessownership #franchiseownership #buyafranchise #futureofwork #franchisesidekick
