Sending out Scope 3 RFPs for 2027? Don't buy software that's obsolete on day one. With the Land Sector and Removals Standard (LSRS) kicking in on January 1, legacy RFP templates miss critical data requirements – like separate reporting categories and supporting traceability. Download the 2027 Scope 3 RFP Guide for Food Businesses for the exact technical questions you need to ask to guarantee compliance.

Is your sustainability data a black box? 📦 Increasingly, food businesses and sustainability teams are interrogating the numbers in their reporting. 🧮 They want to know the 'why' and the 'how' behind an impact calculation or a changing emission factor. We stand behind this questioning 100% and are helping lead the industry towards greater transparency. 🙅 Because nobody should be left guessing. For the past six years, our in-house science team has been building, refining, and scaling our emission factor database. 💻 Today, our new Data page is a window into that work. Just like the agrifood sector itself, this page will evolve as new methodologies emerge and better data becomes available. Dive in, and, as always, reach out to the team for a chat. 👉 https://lnkd.in/e9NPjnan

High-quality data – right at your fingertips 🫴💡 The first version of the Food Environmental Impact Database (FEID) has officially been released, responding to an urgent need across the agrifood sector for easily accessible, actionable climate data. Funded by Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs and developed by WRAP in collaboration with industry and academic partners – including WWF and the University of Oxford – the digital platform provides a reliable foundation for robust environmental assessment. 𝗪𝗵𝘆 𝗱𝗼𝗲𝘀 𝗶𝘁 𝗺𝗮𝘁𝘁𝗲𝗿? Because all data is processed through HESTIA's consistent modelling framework, FEID removes fragmented guesswork. Now, sustainability and procurement teams can confidently benchmark sourcing options and compare the environmental performance of the same crop across completely different regions using genuinely comparable data. 𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗱𝗼𝗲𝘀 𝗶𝘁 𝗱𝗼? ✅ Simplifies complexity: FEID transforms fragmented global supply chain data into an easy-to-use tool, allowing users to complete assessments in minutes that previously required deep analytical expertise. ✅ Streamlines reporting: The database can filter results based on the Land Sector and Removals Guidance (LSRG), cleanly separating standard emissions from land-use change impacts to make regulatory disclosures straightforward. 𝗛𝗼𝘄 𝗪𝗮𝘀 𝗙𝗼𝗼𝗱𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗽𝘀 𝗜𝗻𝘃𝗼𝗹𝘃𝗲𝗱? 🌱 Foodsteps played an active role in shaping the FEID and supporting its development into a robust resource for the wider food system: 📊 LCA Data Integration: Working across both crop and animal products, we helped upload, standardise, and structure environmental datasets from a wide range of lifecycle assessments to ensure they aligned with HESTIA's data format. 📄 Ongoing Review: We provided continuous technical feedback and expert review during development check-ins as the database evolved. 🧑💻 Trial Phase Testing: During the initial pilot, we helped evaluate and refine the user interface, offering practical insights from an implementation and end-user perspective before the public release. 𝗗𝗿𝗶𝘃𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗜𝗻𝗱𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗿𝘆 𝗖𝗼𝗹𝗹𝗮𝗯𝗼𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 The launch of FEID represents a major milestone for pre-competitive, industry-wide collaboration – a crucial piece of the puzzle for food system decarbonisation. By building shared infrastructure and open-access data tools together, we can shift the entire food value chain toward a more resilient future. HESTIA’s data and platform are critical to this project and we’re proud to be their long-term partner.
