The supply chains getting the most out of AI aren't using it to remove people. They're using it so people stop finding out about problems last. 49% of food manufacturers are already using AI in some form. The ones seeing real returns aren't replacing judgement — they're giving their teams visibility they didn't have the hours to generate manually: flagging the anomaly before it's a recall, surfacing the pattern before it's a line in next quarter's report. Where's the first place more visibility would actually change a decision on your team, rather than just adding another dashboard? The numbers behind this → https://lnkd.in/gHAwiZXF

AI in food supply chains pays off where it gives people visibility, not where it tries to replace them. The useful wins are quiet ones: the anomaly flagged before it becomes a recall, the supplier trend spotted before the next audit. None of it works on messy data, though. Clean, connected supplier and quality data has to come first. Before asking what AI can do for your team, it's worth asking whether the data underneath it is ready. What's the one dataset your team wouldn't trust an AI to read today? Where AI is paying off in food supply chains → https://lnkd.in/eXdWKiCp

BEHIND THE BENCHMARK After 40+ years in retail, and many of those years in the Buyer/Category Manager seat, I've seen the USDA benchmark used as gospel more times than I can count. They are important. But don’t tell the whole story. On October 22, I'm joining Foods ConnectedFoods Connected and Mike McCarthyMike McCarthy for a live conversation: 'Behind the Benchmark: What Retail Protein Buyers Can't See, and What It's Costing.” We’re going to get practical and dig into four blind spots together; specs, cost, quality, forecast and where real cost can get hidden. For retailers, it’s not only about negotiating harder. It’s about having better visibility, asking better questions and understanding what’s really driving your protein costs. We will share some insightful perspectives and give you a few tips to put to work. 45 minutes, free, 5PM BST / 12PM ET. If you've ever wanted a clearer view of what's really driving your protein costs, this is for you: https://lnkd.in/gE5g57vF
