$1,000. Out of his own pocket. Just to receive his work laptop. A customer told us this during a demo. New hire in Argentina. Laptop shipped from Europe. Stuck at customs. Import duties: $1,000. Nobody had planned for it. So he paid. Think about the message that sends: “Welcome to the team. Please cover our logistics.” The duties weren’t the real problem. Shipping blind was: no local stock, no local partner, no plan. That’s not global procurement. That’s hoping for the best. At Fleet, we work with local partners in 150 countries. Duties are anticipated, the device arrives on time, and the employee never pays a cent. Hiring everywhere is a strategy. Shipping everywhere needs one too.

Why every remote-first company ends up in LATAM, and why equipping a team there is so hard Brazil and Colombia are where a lot of tech hiring is heading: a huge developer talent pool, time zones that work with both Europe and the US, and a fast-growing startup scene. If we take Brazil we see it in our own numbers: the devices we ship to Brazil have doubled every year since 2024. But Brazil is also one of the most closed markets for hardware. Import taxes are heavy, customs is slow, and you can’t just send a MacBook from Paris or NYC. What companies do without us Most of them tell the new hire: “Buy your laptop locally and expense it.” It looks simple. In practice: → The employee advances thousands of reais and waits to be reimbursed → The company has no tracking: what was bought, when, and at what price → The laptop is never enrolled in the MDM, so no security policies and no remote wipe → When the person leaves, nobody knows how to get the laptop back How Fleet helps We buy locally through our partner in Brazil. The device arrives already enrolled, and it’s tracked in the same platform as the rest of your fleet. → Median of 7 days from purchase to delivery, from São Paulo to small towns in Minas Gerais → 53 companies have equipped their Brazilian teams with Fleet → One contract, one invoice, one dashboard, whether your employee is in Paris, Berlin or Fortaleza cc Saad Ibntabet Sevan Marian Baptiste Petelle Mariana Fino Morales

An employee goes for a drink after work. At some point, they look down. Their bag is gone. Inside: their laptop. At first, it sounds like a hardware problem. A stolen device. A replacement to order. A few thousand euros lost. But for the IT team, the real question is much bigger: Was the device encrypted? Was MDM installed? Can we lock it remotely? Can we wipe it before anyone gets access? Because a stolen laptop is rarely just a stolen laptop. According to a Ponemon / Intel study, 46% of lost or stolen laptops contained confidential data. That’s the real risk. Not the device itself. The data inside it. Customer files. Employee information. Financial documents. Internal tools. Access to company systems. And the worst moment to ask security questions is after the laptop has disappeared. At Fleet, we believe device security should start before the laptop even reaches the employee. Every device can ship with MDM already configured, so IT teams can enforce security policies, encrypt devices, protect company data, and remotely wipe a laptop in one click if something goes wrong. No manual setup. No blind spots. No panic when the bag is gone. Just one less fire for IT teams to deal with. https://lnkd.in/ecpBVXSV

Nobody notices IT when things go right. When onboarding is smooth, HR gets the credit. When security holds up, the CISO gets the credit. When a laptop arrives on time, configured, delivered to the right address, in the right country, before day one…No one says anything. That’s the paradox of IT. If everything works, it becomes invisible. But the second something breaks, IT is the first call. And behind the scenes, the reality is often messy: 🌍 Devices across 10 countries 🤝 5 different vendors to coordinate 💻 300+ assets to track 📊 Spreadsheets full of serial numbers, delivery dates, returns, repairs and invoices ⏱️ And everything expected to be ready before day oneday. That’s not a tooling problem only. It’s an operational burden. And IT managers deserve better than another Excel file, another manual process, or another vendor to coordinate. They need a platform that does the heavy lifting. So they can spend less time chasing laptops. And more time on what actually matters: security, employee experience, and building scalable IT operations. If you want to learn more how we solve all this : https://lnkd.in/ecpBVXSV
