Everyone tells you the first international market is the hardest. It's a lie. The first market you enter on adrenaline. You expected the paperwork, the duty maze, the six-month distributor courtship, the capital you wouldn't see again for a year. You budgeted for pain and you got it. 📉 The second market is where it actually breaks businesses. Because now the first market still needs feeding — stock commitments, storage, the distributor's forecast you're contractually holding inventory against — while the second one demands everything the first one did. New entity. New compliance regime. New duty structure. New freight lanes. Same balance sheet. 📊 The costs don't take turns. They stack. And somewhere around market two or three, drinks founders discover the truth nobody puts on the conference panel: international expansion isn't a series of launches. It's a series of overlapping capital commitments that all mature at different speeds — funded by one business that's still waiting to be paid by the last one. The brands operating in 10+ markets aren't carrying 10x the capital burden. That's the part worth understanding. 👇

There's a map on the wall in most drinks business. 📍 Pins in it. Markets they're in. Markets they're "launching next year." But the spreadsheets that sit behind the map are very rarely realistic. The one where every pin is a line of capital that left the business months before revenue arrived. Where "we're in 8 markets" means 8 duty regimes, 8 storage bills, 8 payment cycles — all running on the same working capital that's meant to fund production at home. The map is the story you tell investors and journalists. The spreadsheet is the story you tell yourself at 11pm. Here's the uncomfortable question: what's the gap between how fast your map is growing and how fast the cash comes back from it? Because that gap has a cost. It compounds quietly. And it decides — more than your liquid, more than your brand — how many pins you can actually afford. The fastest-expanding drinks businesses aren't the ones with the biggest reserves. They're the ones who stopped letting the gap decide. 👇

Freight: paid. Duty: paid. Legal: paid. Purchase order: still waiting. "Can you keep funding this while you wait?" Most brands find out too late. 👇

Every drinks business carries the same contradiction - asset-rich, cash-poor, and told that's just how the industry works. It isn't. There's a way to make the stock fund the growth, instead of blocking it. Liquids into liquidity — here's what that means → https://lnkd.in/eWGkGscf

66% less operational resource to run the business. 98+ Italian wineries managed through one platform. Zero outstanding debts to producers - every single one paid upfront. Passione Vino imports great artisan Italian wines to the finest tables of London's restaurants. 🇮🇹 Post-Brexit paperwork, rising costs, capital locked in stock and a back office run manually across 100 supplier relationships. They replaced all of it with one operating system - and the upfront payments changed their reputation in Italy overnight. "The producers are coming to us now because they know we buy upfront. That's unheard of in this market." 🎥 The full story, told by Luca himself.

Your company already has the stock, the demand, and the brand. What it's missing is the operating system underneath - the one that funds the stock, cuts the cost of moving it, and gets you paid without the 90-day wait. That's what we built. Here's how it works → https://lnkd.in/eR7KzfQw
