Elon Musk has demoed a flying car, and your finance team is still planning in IBM TM1? Watch us rebuild a large TM1 model in Farseer live, using our AI modeler. Matej Trbara builds it the way a finance user would, with no developer. IBM ends paid extended support for the last TM1 with Perspectives and Architect on 31 October. We’ll also show you the path from TM1 to Farseer. TM1 is IBM’s planning software, and many finance teams still build their budgets and forecasts in it. If your team plans in it, you now have to decide what to do. The usual options are to upgrade to the newer IBM tools, to buy add-ons that keep the old reports alive, or to move off TM1. The upgrade is a project with its own cost. Afterwards, every model change still needs a specialist, and many companies already pay consultants or an offshore team for that work. The upgrade doesn’t change it. Before the demo, Velislav Asenov and Maxim Grigoriev compare the three paths on cost and effort. They built and maintained TM1 models at large companies before joining Farseer. 45 minutes, on 27 October at 8 am ET/ 2 pm CET. Everyone who registers gets the recording. Every month I watch good finance people get burnout after days reconciling numbers that the system should have reconciled for them. You know the signs. A dozen versions of the same file. Two people who understand the formulas. A number that turns out wrong right before it matters most. Most teams know it needs fixing and what stops them is the fear that doing so it is a year-long project with a room full of consultants. The fastest way I have found to show that is not true is to just do it. Live. Bring a planning model you actually struggle with. I will rebuild a piece of it in Farseer while you watch, in clicks, and recalculate the whole thing on the spot. Worst case, you spend 20 minutes and walk away with a clearer idea of how this could work for your team. No pressure to decide anything. If you have been meaning to take a proper look, this is the easy way to do it. https://lnkd.in/dSh9Wqj8

If your finance team runs on a lot of people, a lot of data, and a lot of spreadsheets, you have probably made peace with a certain amount of chaos. Most finance leaders I meet have. They know the month-end scramble, the numbers that do not tie, the model only one person fully understands. Somewhere along the way they decided that is simply the cost of doing finance at scale. I do not think it is. And most of them have never actually seen what the alternative looks like. Picture one place where planning, reporting, consolidation, forecasting and scenarios all live together. Where you never leave the tool to get an answer, and the number is the same everywhere you look. None of that is a wish list. Finance should have had it years ago. I spent a few minutes on camera on who this is really for, and why it matters. If everything your finance team needed lived in one place, how much of your month would you get back? More on who Farseer is really for: https://lnkd.in/da6NTavg

AI isn't replacing CFO judgment. It's removing the friction that slows it down. The real competitive advantage isn't having more data. It's turning analysis into confident decisions before the opportunity disappears. The most effective finance teams are no longer using AI simply to produce reports faster. They're using it to challenge assumptions, test multiple scenarios, understand trade-offs and evaluate the financial impact of decisions while there's still time to act. Of course, faster answers only matter if you can trust them. That starts with connected, governed financial data and complete visibility into how conclusions are reached. I recently explored this topic with The Financial Revolutionist, discussing why finance leaders should stop treating AI as a reporting tool and start using it as a strategic decision-making partner, without sacrificing oversight. Have a read and let me know what you think. https://lnkd.in/eZEM64YY

You're not managing profitability if you're measuring it after the quarter closes. By the time margin erosion shows up in your reports, the opportunity to act has already passed. Real profitability management means seeing margin shifts as they happen, across SKUs, customers, and channels, so you can respond before they impact the bottom line. If you're still planning with outdated assumptions and looking at historical data, you're basically driving your business through the rearview mirror.

I think a lot of companies are quietly wasting their most expensive finance people. The best finance teams I know have the space to do the work that actually matters, because they are not buried in spreadsheets to get to it. For most of my career I watched finance treated as the team that reports the past. Close the month, explain the variance, produce the deck, start again. Smart people are stuck doing work a system should be doing for them. I did not start Farseer to make that reporting a little faster. I started it to give those people their time back, so they can do the part only they can do. Decide where the money goes next. That is the real return. Not the hours saved on reconciliation, although there are plenty of those. It is what a finance team does once those hours are free. The scenarios they run. The questions they answer for the CEO before the CEO thinks to ask them. If you are considering Farseer to shave time off your team's day-to-day, you are aiming too low. I am biased, obviously. But if you have already been looking at Farseer, the honest way to judge whether that shift is real for your team is to see it working on your own numbers. If you want that, I am happy to set it up with the team. No slideware, no pressure. Just the platform and your model. https://lnkd.in/eEDhBwis
