In a first for Ireland, ESB Networks has deployed Ampjack Industries Ltd.'s innovative tower-raising technology as part of the upgrade of the Flagford to Louth 220 kV transmission line, a 100km corridor connecting the west and east of the country. Eleven towers were raised by approximately 2.5 metres while the line remained live, ensuring minimised disruption to customers. This project demonstrates how innovation can help us get more from existing infrastructure, accelerate network upgrades and deliver capacity more efficiently. Brought forward by EirGrid Group, the Flagford to Louth 220 kV transmission line upgrade will support a more resilient, reliable and renewable-powered electricity system, benefiting customers and communities across the Midlands, North-East, West and North-West. Watch the video to see how innovation, collaboration and new approaches are helping make the network work harder for our customers. Electricity infrastructure is central to enabling new homes, thriving communities and future economic growth. At Yellowmeadows 110 kV Station in Clondalkin, ESB Networks has reached an important milestone with the installation of two new transformers. Once complete, the project will provide the capacity needed to support approximately 9,000 additional homes across West Dublin, including Cairn Seven Mills. As Ireland focuses on accelerating the delivery of critical infrastructure, projects like Yellowmeadows show how investment in the electricity network is helping to unlock housing, support local development and build a more resilient future for customers and communities. Watch the video to see how our teams are accelerating infrastructure delivery to help power the next phase of growth in West Dublin.
