𝗢𝘃𝗲𝗿 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘆𝗲𝗮𝗿𝘀, 𝗜 𝗵𝗮𝘃𝗲 𝗵𝗮𝗱 𝘀𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗿𝗮𝗹 𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗼𝗿𝘀. And each of them taught me something different. What I valued most was having someone who would challenge me and, when it mattered, speak up for me in rooms I was not in. Having benefited from the generosity of others, I know how much a single conversation can change the course of a career. That is why, when someone asks me for advice, I try to make time. I am glad to pass on my own experiences and perspectives. The best part of being a mentor is that I learn from my mentees just as much as they learn from me. Their questions often give me a new way of looking at things. One in particular has stayed with me: “What did you have to stop doing when you became a manager?” For me, that meant learning to step back: trusting others with work I once did myself and accepting that they may do it differently. I particularly enjoy conversations with colleagues earlier in their careers. Their fresh perspectives on work, technology and leadership are valuable for any leader to hear. #EOSGroup #Mentoring #Networking #Leadership

"𝐒𝐞𝐭𝐭𝐥𝐞𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐨𝐟 𝐬𝐞𝐜𝐮𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐬𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐭𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐬𝐚𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬." Sounds rather dry, right? In German, we’d call it "𝐡ö𝐥𝐳𝐞𝐫𝐧." Yet, I was genuinely excited to speak about exactly this topic today at the 𝐂𝐚𝐩𝐢𝐭𝐚𝐥 & 𝐂𝐨𝐝𝐞 conference. Why? Because it brings together two worlds I am deeply passionate about: 𝐒𝐞𝐜𝐮𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐬𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬: Bundling receivables, structuring them, and channeling them efficiently to investors. 𝐁𝐥𝐨𝐜𝐤𝐜𝐡𝐚𝐢𝐧 𝐓𝐞𝐜𝐡𝐧𝐨𝐥𝐨𝐠𝐲: A secure, tamper-proof ledger that provides trust and transparency. Together with Noura Boutaskiouine and Moritz Stumpf, I had the privilege of presenting our solution. What makes this approach truly exciting is the angle: 𝐖𝐞 𝐚𝐫𝐞𝐧’𝐭 𝐟𝐨𝐜𝐮𝐬𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐨𝐧 𝐭𝐨𝐤𝐞𝐧𝐢𝐳𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐬𝐚𝐤𝐞 𝐨𝐟 𝐢𝐭. Instead, the real breakthrough lies in solving practical challenges: driving efficiency, enabling scalability, and radically simplifying what has traditionally been a manual, paper-based process. A big thank you to the organizers (especially AllUnity) and everyone who joined the session and engaged in the discussion! How do you see the future of post-trade settlement: is distributed ledger technology the missing piece to modernise these processes?

AI at my bank? Absolutely yes, if it offers fast, relevant service! That’s one of the key messages I take from the latest consumer study conducted by EOS Group in 11 European countries. 46 percent of European respondents said that AI improves communication with their bank overall. And even 61 percent said they would like AI alerts when their account is about to go into the red. At the same time, despite AI’s usefulness, 60 percent also miss the human touch. AI receives lower ratings when understanding, precision, and problem-solving are required. To me, these results show how important it is to strike a good balance between fast, useful service provided by AI and human interaction. My opinion: I trust AI tools when I trust the company as a whole, and that trust is built through the people who represent it. That accounts especially for sensitive issues like finances. Or is this a generational thing? Younger generations already see AI-powered services as part of modern banking, valuing their speed and round-the-clock availability. "𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿𝘃𝗶𝗲𝘄 𝗳𝗲𝗹𝘁 𝗹𝗶𝗸𝗲 𝘀𝗶𝘁𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗶𝗻 𝗮 𝗰𝗮𝗳é, 𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗰𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘂𝗽 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗳𝗿𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗱𝘀." What lovely feedback from an attendee about my leadership talk with Romina Rosiello and Marina Jozić! Both are from the W:isible community EOS Group, which is dedicated to making women in the professional world more visible. Last week, they interviewed me about my career and my thoughts on good leadership. So, what is it for me? I said it before, but beyond the big essentials like trust and communication, what has personally worked well for me is a good dose of 𝗰𝗼𝗼𝗹𝗻𝗲𝘀𝘀, 𝗽𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲 and 𝗵𝘂𝗺𝗼𝗿. 😎 That might sound simple, but it really helps when you can be patient (timing), when you dont take debates personally (very hard for me), and when you can handle delicate, tense situations—or those that sometimes arise between men and women—with kindness and humor (builds trust). A former boss at EOS once said to me: "Ms. Flemming, it's always easy to work with you!" Back then, you can tell it was still the era of formal address, I didnt know how to take it at first. Am I being too easygoing? Am I not pushing hard enough? But he meant it 100 percent positively. Especially in mixed groups, humor and—yes—charm often (not always!) get you much further than taking a hard line. I know Im on thin ice here writing about supposedly "female" traits. But I stand by it: I unfold best in a relaxed atmosphere, and I believe many topics lead to better outcomes that way. If my communication style helps with that, then I consider it a strength. Anyhow, clearly, that kind of atmosphere came through in the W:isible talk as well. A huge thank you to Romina and Marina for this wonderful round! And if anyone has different perspectives, I'd love to hear them!

Standing still means falling behind. I was traveling again last week. Although it can be exhausting at times, I found myself reflecting on the journey home that I always return with plenty of exciting insights and experiences. On one of the last journeys for example, I visited a country where the EOS Group might want to invest. I had interesting discussions with the central bank, business leaders, and various ministries, such as the Ministry of Finance. Approaching a new market, getting to know the culture, the economy, and the key players is one of the highlights of my job! Observing and analyzing how stable a market is, what values are upheld, and how the competitive landscape looks like – there are so many different layers and levels to focus on. What I find most fulfilling is connecting these different perspectives, determining whether they align with EOS's principles, and ultimately assessing whether we can build a sustainable long-term presence while staying true to who we are and what we stand for. Let’s see how this one turns out. I thought it looked very promising…

“𝐈𝐧𝐬𝐚𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐢𝐬 𝐝𝐨𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐬𝐚𝐦𝐞 𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐨𝐯𝐞𝐫 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐨𝐯𝐞𝐫 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐞𝐱𝐩𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐚 𝐝𝐢𝐟𝐟𝐞𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐮𝐥𝐭!” These words from Albert Einstein ring just as true today as they did roughly 100 years ago. We are roughly half a year into our business year. Amazing how quickly time is ticking away. But nevertheless, it’s a good moment to look at the performance at EOS Group: The first few months of this year have demonstrated our capabilities. Weve once again invested significantly in NPL purchases, which clearly shows that our strategy is paying off and that our teams are working hard. The market environment is anything but easy. Pricing remains competitive, and conditions are volatile. Nevertheless, we are doing well in all regions. Additionally, a few hidden champions, such as Slovenia and North Macedonia, are gaining momentum. We are confident that we will exceed our targets. And what has Einstein to do with all this? Well, EOS has been and is a very successful organization. But we will not stay this successful if we repeat what we did in the past. AI will be one of our drivers of our future success. We are intensively working on processes to be transformed and we are looking at every opportunity in order to be seized. This, for me, is the one message to take with me regardless of good numbers.
