Frequent cycling puts pressure on battery life, maintenance and operating costs. EnerVenue’s Aqueous Metal Cells are designed for continuous cycling with minimal degradation and low maintenance, with a 30,000-cycle design life. Towngas is now operating the first pilot deployment of EnerVenue’s fourth-generation AMC technology. The 50-cell system supports onsite renewable generation and electric-bus charging, with continuous two-to-four-hour charge and discharge periods. See the project move from manufacturing in Changzhou through installation and commissioning to operation.

Frequent cycling is only useful if the system can keep doing it without creating a heavy maintenance burden. EnerVenue’s Aqueous Metal Cells are designed for continuous cycling with minimal degradation and low maintenance. At Towngas, 50 fourth-generation AMCs are now operating in a pilot system supporting onsite renewable generation and electric-bus charging, with continuous two-to-four-hour charge and discharge periods. The video follows the system from the factory in Changzhou through installation and into operation.

What happens when an energy storage system fails? For utilities, data centers, EPCs, and infrastructure owners, the answer shapes permitting, insurance, operational risk, and long-term project confidence. That is why EnerVenue took a different path. Our fourth-generation Aqueous Metal Cell technology is built on a metal-hydrogen architecture using nickel and a water-based electrolyte. It contains no lithium and no flammable organic electrolyte. That chemistry creates a fundamentally different safety profile for long-duration energy storage. At a defined overcharge condition, the system vents steam. No thermal-runaway fire mechanism. No container-level fire event to manage. No assumption that risk can simply be engineered around after the fact. For infrastructure, safety cannot be an add-on. It has to start at the cell. Born To Empower. Built To Endure.
