Something new is coming on October 28, and we can't wait to share it with you! Empatica was founded on the idea that healthcare technology should feel friendly, caring, and human. That belief has shaped our work in epilepsy, where we help people feel more independent and their families feel more at ease. It also guides how we support researchers and pharmaceutical companies, whose work with our wearables and digital biomarkers spans a wide range of health conditions. On October 28, we’re introducing a new way to monitor Parkinson's, bringing our FDA-cleared, clinically validated technology directly to people at home. These algorithms are backed by more than 70 peer-reviewed publications and used across more than 150 hospitals and clinical sites worldwide. Our goal is to help people bring more of their everyday experience into view, understand how things change over time, and share a clearer picture with the people supporting their care. Stay tuned, and we look forward to sharing more next week! 👉 Learn more: https://lnkd.in/dvUmP7Cp #Parkinsons #ParkinsonsDisease #DigitalHealth

Living with Parkinson's involves realities that are not always visible to others. Join Dr Janine Barnes MBE, the first UK pharmacist accredited with a Special Interest in Neurology and a former member of the NICE guideline committee for Parkinson's disease; Wendy Barnett, who left a senior nursing career after her 2018 Parkinson's diagnosis to found PD Paladins, now preparing for deep brain stimulation surgery this December; and Sarah Dunbar-Baker, a Clinical Lead Occupational Therapist with 31+ years in the NHS supporting people with neurological conditions, in conversation with Empatica's Christy Cheung. Together, they will cover common questions and concerns at different stages of the condition, medication and daily routine conversations to have with a care team, what an occupational therapy assessment and care plan can involve, the role of exercise and community groups, and how objective, data-driven monitoring can support more coordinated care between appointments. 🗓 Wednesday, September 30, 2026 ⌚ 1:00 PM ET / 7:00 PM CET 🔗 Register now to secure your spot: https://lnkd.in/eVN3bM4E #ParkinsonsDisease #DigitalHealth #LivingWellWithParkinsons

🎉 Big news: Empatica has received FDA 510(k) clearance for our Health Monitoring Platform for Parkinson's; our 12th FDA clearance to date. This platform brings together clinically validated Parkinson's measures with our clinical-grade wearables, patient app, secure cloud technology, and clinician portal, enabling continuous, objective monitoring of symptoms like bradykinesia, dyskinesia, tremor, sleep, and medication compliance, right from home. Built on our 2025 acquisition of PKG Health, these algorithms are backed by 70+ peer-reviewed publications and are already in use across 150+ hospitals and clinical sites worldwide. “This clearance marks an important step forward for Parkinson’s care,” said Matteo Lai, CEO and Co-founder of Empatica. “We are bringing objective monitoring into a platform designed for great user experience and scale. This can help people better understand their symptoms, provide clinicians with data to support more personalized care, and give researchers deeper insight into disease progression and treatment response.” For clinicians and researchers, this means more informed, personalized treatment decisions, and for people living with Parkinson's, a clearer picture of how their symptoms evolve day to day. 👉 Learn more about this milestone and what it means for Parkinson's care: https://lnkd.in/dGZYM8fd #Parkinsons #DigitalHealth #WearableTech

Double-device monitoring is enabling researchers to capture richer, more complete datasets and uncover correlations that single-device setups might miss. By combining two wearables within one integrated platform, research teams can: ✅ Collect diverse endpoints from multiple body locations ✅ Record vitals, actigraphy, and sleep data simultaneously within a single protocol ✅ Track nuanced changes over time to support earlier detection of specific outcomes ✅ Reduce data loss and support long-term patient compliance with flexible, wearable-friendly form factors For example, pairing an EmbracePlus at the wrist with the elastic strap at the waist enables combined endpoint strategies: capturing heart and stress signals from the wrist alongside movement and walking patterns from the lower back, without adding app complexity for the patient. This approach supports research across multiple therapeutic areas, including neurology and rheumatology. Double-device monitoring enables researchers to design more comprehensive trials and draw deeper insights from every participant. #WearableTechnology #DigitalBiomarkers #ClinicalTrials

Pairing patient-reported data with continuous physiological measurement from wearables can offer a more complete picture of patient health. Electronic Clinical Outcome Assessments (eCOA) capture how a patient feels, while digital biomarker data from wearables continuously tracks physiological and behavioral change. By pairing eCOA with digital endpoints, sponsors can reduce recall bias, improve sensitivity in detecting subtle changes, and support more reliable, real-time data collection, all while easing the reporting burden on patients through passive monitoring. For fluctuating conditions such as sleep disorders and movement disorders, this hybrid approach helps teams better understand disease progression, treatment response, and functional performance over time. 📖 Read more about pairing eCOA with digital endpoints in our new blog post: https://lnkd.in/dEQuE9ke #DigitalHealth #DecentralizedTrials #eCOA #WearableTech

Wearable technology can offer real insight into how Parkinson's actually shows up between clinic visits, but only if patients are willing to wear it. Device size, ease of use, and how well it fits into daily life all shape whether monitoring becomes part of a patient's routine or just another thing to manage. In a recent webinar, Prof. Francesca Morgante answered Chase Babcock's question on exactly this: what barriers she's seen to patients adopting wearable devices, and why, despite them, most patients end up embracing the technology and the added involvement in their own care. 🎥 Watch the full webinar on demand: https://lnkd.in/ey3df-pR #ParkinsonsDisease #DigitalHealth #Neurology
