At 10:00 a.m., inbound volume is slightly above forecast. By 10:45, customers are already waiting longer. Somewhere between those two moments is the only period when an insight can still change the outcome. We call it the Decision Window. The Data Advantage #12, The Intervention Advantage, looks at how to engineer intelligence that arrives inside that window, with enough context for the right person to act. Inside this issue: ▸ Why the next generation of alerts must be more intelligent ▸ The anatomy of an alert worth acting on ▸ From AI insight to recommendations people trust ▸ Healthcare spotlight: one patient access shift, from an 8:30 start to a 9:06 alert with 45 minutes still on the clock ▸ A technical deep dive for data and platform teams Two free tools help you put it into practice: The Intelligent Intervention Playbook Eight plays, two worked examples, a 30-day pilot plan and a 10-question quiz that benchmarks how decision-ready your operation is today. The Decision-Ready Alert Canvas A one-page fillable canvas your team can use to design its first decision-ready alert in a single workshop. One question to start with: if you could see one operational problem 30 minutes earlier, which would you choose? The full issue and both downloads are linked in the first comment. #DecisionIntelligence #ContactCentre #CustomerExperience #OperationalIntelligence #DataAnalytics

Workforce management has become incredibly good at answering what is happening. The next opportunity is helping workforce leaders understand why it is happening and what they should do next. That’s the shift from workforce management to workforce intelligence. It means looking beyond the workforce plan itself and bringing together the context around it: Demand + workforce + customer + operations + business priorities → better decisions. A service-level drop, coverage gap or unexpected demand spike is useful information. But the real value comes when managers can quickly understand what is driving it, where the impact is greatest and where capacity can be shifted. That doesn’t mean replacing the WFM platforms or processes organisations already rely on. It means adding an intelligence layer around them. With emite and AskEmite, workforce leaders can bring workforce and interaction data together with information from across the wider business, then explore that context through dashboards, analytics and natural-language questions. AI shortens the path to the decision. The workforce manager still makes the call. Our latest blog looks at what workforce intelligence adds to WFM, how it applies beyond the contact centre, and where organisations can start. AI can give everyone access to more information. But should everyone get the same answer? A workforce manager, operations leader, CX leader, data analyst and executive can all be looking at the same underlying business data — but they need very different things from it. The workforce manager might ask: “Where are we most exposed against forecast this afternoon?” An executive might ask: “What changed materially this week, and where should we focus?” Same data. Different role. Different decision. That’s why the next step in the Human + AI workforce isn’t simply giving more people access to AI. It’s giving them role-based intelligence. With Persona-Based Intelligence in emite, the role helps determine: • what data a user can access • the level of detail they see • how dashboards are presented • how AskEmite frames its response • the context used to turn information into action It creates a simple progression: Right User → Right Context → Right Insight → Right Action And importantly, it makes persona part of governance — helping organisations expand access to AI while maintaining appropriate boundaries around data, visibility and decision-making. Orchestration finds the signal. Persona makes it relevant. Our latest blog explores why role-based intelligence will be an important part of designing a Human + AI workforce that actually works. Most AI pilots don’t struggle because the model isn’t capable. They struggle because the architecture underneath the model was never designed to scale. Connected data is not the same as understood data. Governed data is not the same as usable intelligence. And a dashboard is not the same as a decision. That’s why we built The Orchestration Architecture Playbook. It breaks orchestrated intelligence into seven practical layers: Experience Data → Enterprise Data → Integration & Processing → Semantic Context → Governance & Persona → Intelligence → Decision & Action And then turns that architecture into a five-phase roadmap organisations can actually build against. The goal isn’t to build everything at once. It’s to understand: • which layers your highest-value use case actually depends on • where data quality, correlation or governance will become a constraint • how to create a reusable integration backbone • where semantic context needs to sit • how persona and access controls become part of the intelligence itself • how to move from insight into a real operational action Because the value of orchestration doesn’t come from connecting more systems. It comes from connecting the right context to the moment a decision needs to be made. If you’re moving from AI experimentation toward production, this is the architecture conversation worth having. A frontline manager and a CFO can ask your AI system the exact same question — and both need a different, correct answer. If your system can't tell the difference, that's not a model problem. It's a context problem. We built a free 20-question self-assessment for data and analytics leaders, covering: → Semantic foundations — does every core metric actually have one agreed definition? → Context ownership — who's accountable if an AI answer is wrong because the context behind it was? → Persona & role awareness — does the same question get the right answer for the right person? → Validation & governance — can you trace and defend how an AI-generated answer got made? Score yourself out of 20. Most organisations land somewhere in the middle — the gap is usually process, not technology. Download: The AI Context Readiness Checklist #emite #datacontext #aireadiness

Most organisations already have the data. Most already have some AI in place, too. What's missing is the layer in between: the context that connects them, and the orchestration that turns that context into action. Issue 11 of The Data Advantage picks up where our last issue left off. If Issue 10 was about why context matters, this one is about what you actually do with it, how workforce management becomes workforce intelligence, why the contact centre stopped being the edge of customer experience, and what it takes to scale an AI pilot into something that actually lasts. Grounded in what Gartner, Forrester and McKinsey are seeing across the industry, as well as the latest conversations from Genesys Xperience 2026, not just our own view of it.
