For almost a decade, the Foundation's work has mobilised action behind a strong vision for a circular economy for fashion and textiles. Most recently, our demonstration project, The Fashion ReModel, has seen pioneering brands, retailers, and platforms prove the commercial case for circular business models — and begin to highlight the role policy must play in creating the conditions for these models to scale. Now, it's time to catalyse transformation. To multiply the impact of what is already underway. We have begun developing the 2040 Agenda for Fashion and Textiles — a blueprint everyone can use, not a patchwork of isolated efforts. The efforts are multiplying. Join the journey.

Participants in the Foundation's demonstration project, The Fashion ReModel, have already shown that circular business models — such as resale and repair — meet customer demand, build business resilience, and reduce climate impact. But the current system is preventing them from scaling. Businesses and organisations are calling for policy change to help these models to scale. But, transformation can only truly be realised when the industry moves beyond fragmented action. It's time to multiply the impact of what is already underway. Find out more about our Fashion and Textiles mission, including our flagship demonstration project, The Fashion ReModel.

Join pioneering businesses calling for policies that help circular business models such as resale and repair, to scale. A circular economy offers the fashion industry a better, more resilient way of doing business. Resale and repair business models have the potential to decouple revenue from resource extraction and reshape how the fashion industry does business. They offer businesses the opportunity to make more money without making more clothes, but the current linear system makes scaling hard. Circular business models are caught in an economic trap. Resale is taxed at every transaction; labour-intensive repair and remaking costs don’t fall at scale; and brands are navigating a fragmented landscape with no unified pathway to scale. Policy has a critical role to play. The conditions for scale don’t yet exist — and a policy environment that actively incentivises circular business models, where the economics of repair and resale, work, is essential to getting there. The Foundation, alongside several fashion and textile businesses, are calling for enabling policy change. We are currently advancing a business statement to governments calling for specific policy changes that would make the economics of resale and repair work at scale. We welcome more businesses to join. Are you an organisation that is facing these barriers? The time is now to call for a change in the fashion industry.
