🌱 It's Texas Native Plant Week! Native plants are adapted to local soils and climate, so they generally require less water after becoming established. Their deeper roots can improve soil quality, reduce erosion, and help more rainwater soak into the ground. Choosing native plants connects our landscapes to responsible water use and turns our own backyards into places of stewardship. #TexasNativePlantWeek #NativePlants #WaterWiseLandscaping #EdwardsAquifer #Stewardship

🌧️ Rain is on the way—are you ready to catch it? 💧 With rain in the forecast for South Central Texas, it’s a great time to think about rainwater harvesting! Rain barrels and other collection systems can capture water from your roof and save it for another day. That stored rainwater can later be used for your lawn, garden, and native plants—helping reduce the need for additional water outdoors. 🌱 Before the rain arrives: 💧 Check and clean your gutters 💧 Make sure your rain barrel or collection system is ready 💧 Direct overflow away from your home 💧 Keep your system covered to help prevent mosquitoes Every rainfall is an opportunity to think differently about how we use and conserve water. Catch the rain. Save it for later. Every drop counts. 💙 #EdwardsAquifer #EdwardsAquiferAuthority #RainwaterHarvesting #EveryDropCounts #WaterConservation #TexasWater #RainBarrel
