Edmonton Airports is proud to welcome Sturgeon Public School Division’s Aviation Pathway Program to its growing aviation campus – the first-of-its-kind in the Edmonton region. This hands-on program at Villeneuve Airport (ZVL) supported by Elevate Aviation, gives high school students real-world experience in flight operations, ground handling and aviation technology — all within a live, controlled airport environment. Through this collaboration, students gain early exposure to aviation careers, earning high school credits while training at one of the region’s premier general aviation and training facilities. With two runways, a NAV CANADA control tower, and an Instrument Landing System (ILS), ZVL offers a professional setting that connects education, innovation and workforce development. Together, we’re helping grow the next generation of aviation professionals right here in the Edmonton Metropolitan Region. Learn more about the program: https://lnkd.in/ggdekcvJ

YEG's passenger traffic to Europe is at an all-time high, even though our seat capacity to the continent hasn't caught up to where it's been in past peaks. That gap has pushed our passenger-to-seat ratio to the highest we've ever recorded, and it's part of why so many passengers end up connecting through another city to get there. More than 2 million YEG passengers needed at least one connection to reach their destination last year, and over 400,000 needed two. A good share of that traffic is headed to Europe, choosing a longer path because there isn't enough direct capacity to carry everyone who wants to go. It's demand from our own region, already booking flights and making the trip work today. That's the case our team brings to airlines when we talk about routes to Europe. We're not asking them to bet on demand that might eventually show up, we're showing them a region that's already travelling there, just taking the long way to do it. Pictures never do it justice. No photo, no video, no highlight reel can capture what it actually feels like to be there. Some experiences you have to live for yourself — and they're closer than you think. Wherever you're headed next, it starts at YEG.

Go Behind the Build with Mary Coyne Mary is leading two of YEG's five major capital programs: the International Cargo Hub, set to become one of Canada's most significant cargo and logistics gateways, and a new hydrant fueling network that will let aircraft fuel faster and more safely. These programs are about more than construction. They're infrastructure that keeps cargo moving, strengthens Edmonton's place in global trade and creates economic opportunities across the region. Go Behind the Build with Aditi Jog Aditi is leading two of YEG's five major capital programs: the North Tower Redevelopment, which creates capacity for future passenger growth by modernizing infrastructure and unlocking valuable terminal space, and the Terminal Modernization, which improves and expands key operational systems within the existing building footprint to move more passengers more efficiently. These programs are about more than construction. They're infrastructure that supports future passenger growth, creates a more efficient travel experience and makes smarter use of the space YEG already has. To learn more, visit YEGascent.com.

Go Behind the Build with Raelyn Kruitbosch. As the Director of our new Enterprise Program Office, Raelyn has brought together subject matter experts from across the organization — operations, maintenance, project management, procurement — and cleared the path for them to deliver incredible things. Cargo development. Terminal redevelopment. The North Tower. In-ground hydrant fuelling. And a future defence opportunity. Together, these programs will reshape what the airport looks like and what it can do for the region. To learn more, visit yegascent.com
