"We need more developers." As an engineering leader, you hear this every quarter. But in 3 out of 4 cases, approving that headcount is an expensive mistake. Adding capacity to a knowledge silo, or a top-heavy structure, doesn't increase velocity. It just increases your burn rate. We mapped out the 4 most common team bottlenecks. Only ONE actually needs to hire. Swipe to diagnose your team. And if you are the team that genuinely needs to scale? Click through to see how our Blended Teams deliver top engineers within 2 weeks, with 2x the value per euro spent.

Throwing headcount at a stalling roadmap is the fastest way to burn your budget. If your velocity is flat, adding more developers to a broken system only scales the dysfunction. You're paying for extra capacity, but you're just getting more bottlenecks. Before you open another vacancy, look at your current setup. Are you trying to solve a structural problem with more people? Swipe through these 4 team profiles to find out. If you are the team that genuinely needs capacity, click through to see how emagine's Blended Teams get you top-tier engineers within 2 weeks.

Organisaties investeren ruim in AI. Welke werkzaamheden willen we verbeteren?

On 1 October, DevOn will officially become emagine. For me, DevOn has always felt like a second home. It is a place where I have had the opportunity to learn, grow and work closely with colleagues, friends and customers. What has always made DevOn special to me is the freedom and encouragement to explore new ideas, experiment with new technologies and turn those ideas into something meaningful. Not just for ourselves, but for the wider community and, most importantly, for our customers. That culture has always pushed me to stay curious, keep learning and look for new ways to create impact through technology. As we become emagine, I believe that is something important to carry forward is continued investing in learnings, staying close to emerging technologies and industry trends, and translating that knowledge into solutions that create real value for customers. At the same time, becoming part of emagine opens up many new possibilities. With a broader international customer base and a wider range of capabilities, I see a strong opportunity to create even more value from Bangalore, India. There is an incredible pool of talent here, and I strongly believe in what this ecosystem can offer. I am excited to explore how we can combine that talent with emagine’s international reach to create new delivery opportunities and bring innovative solutions to more customers. I have already had the opportunity to work with colleagues from the UK and Denmark, and I am looking forward to expanding those relationships further. Meeting new leaders, sales specialists and customers across emagine will give us the chance to learn from each other and discover where our capabilities can come together. We are already seeing interest from customers in global, nearshore, bestshore and offshore delivery models, which makes this next phase even more exciting. There is a real sense of momentum around what we can build together. For me, this next chapter is about combining our culture of learning and innovation with a much broader platform for collaboration, growth and customer impact. I am very much looking forward to seeing where that takes us! #emagine #Oneemagine #DevOn #Offshore #India #emagineIndia

On 1st October 2026, DevOn will officially become emagine. For me, this is an important moment in a journey I am genuinely proud of. I started here at DevOn as a tech architect in 2011, moved into delivery/account leadership, and eventually took responsibility for growing technology businesses across Europe and India. One thing we consistently challenged along the way was how software was built, as well as the traditional outsourcing model that treated software engineering primarily as a cost-optimisation or volume game. We wanted to build something different. High-quality, business-value-focused teams combining deep technology expertise, European culture and proximity with the scale, flexibility and talent of India. I believe that combination is increasingly what businesses need today. For me, that is DevOn: great people, entrepreneurial spirit, technical excellence, continuous learning & above all, the culture & ambition to make things happen. And personally, the journey has taught me something equally important: stay committed, keep going when things get difficult, be open and transparent, and never give up on what you believe is worth building. Not every step has been easy, but the willingness to keep learning, keep improving and keep moving forward has made all the difference. And as we become emagine, that DNA comes with us. The ownership, energy, curiosity and willingness to challenge the status quo. The engineering mindset. The passion for technology, AI and innovation. What lies ahead? A much bigger playground. We can combine DevOn's technology and engineering strength with emagine's broader AI-first consulting capabilities across strategy and transformation, agile, cloud, technology and development, as well as managed teams/services. Add emagine's international reach, client base and large consultant network & we have a pretty compelling combination for our customers and for our people. I see this as a change that creates more possibilities than uncertainty. More opportunities to accelerate AI adoption, for our customers and us. More opportunities to grow. More opportunities to create measurable value for customers. And perhaps most importantly, this is not about leaving DevOn behind. It is about taking everything that made DevOn special and giving it a bigger stage. We have built something we can be proud of. Now we get to add more scale, more reach, and a lot more possibilities. Keep what works. Continuously improve. Add more scale. Create more value. 🙂 Looking forward to the journey. DevOn is becoming emagine, but the people, the culture and the ambition are very much coming along for the ride. #emagine #Oneemagine #DevOn #Offshore #India #emagineIndia P.S. 15 years of memories. And plenty of stories that never made it to LinkedIn. 😄

Twenty years ago, we started DevOn in a small room with one computer. I could never have imagined where that journey would take us. From that beginning, we built an international organisation with hundreds of talented professionals, served leading European companies and created a culture I am incredibly proud of. DevOn became part of emagine a few months ago. On 1 October, the DevOn name will officially change. After twenty years of building DevOn, it is a significant moment for me. For our clients, the message is simple: the way we work with you will not change. The same familiar faces will be there, with the same commitment, quality, entrepreneurial mindset and understanding of your organisation. What changes is the scale of what we can offer.DevOn and Prowareness built expertise in software delivery, consulting, transformation and AI. We were ready to reach more clients, enter new markets and create bigger opportunities for our people. In emagine, we found the right partner. What impressed me was its leadership’s effort to understand what made DevOn successful. We share growth ambitions and values: transparency, limited hierarchy, entrepreneurship and care for professionals and clients. I have described the potential as one plus one becoming eleven. We are already seeing it happen. One European client wanted to scale across Europe with the quality we deliver from India. emagine’s offices and network made it possible. Another had searched six months for India specialists; DevOn found them within a week. This matters even more as AI fundamentally changes how software is built. Clients are asking two questions: How do we embed AI into our products? And how do we use it to make software delivery faster, better and more productive? DevOn has invested in research, experimentation and live client projects for several years. By applying AI across the full software lifecycle, we have seen teams deliver up to 50% faster. As emagine, we can bring that knowledge to more clients and markets, combining global reach with deep engineering expertise. But for me, this moment is deeply personal.DevOn has been a defining part of my professional life for twenty years. I have had the privilege of watching it grow from that first room and one computer into the organisation it is today. And I certainly didn’t build it alone. Many colleagues have spent five, ten, fifteen and even twenty years on this journey. Clients trusted us when we were small, challenged us as we grew and gave us opportunities that helped shape DevOn. Building DevOn has been one of the greatest privileges of my professional life. I am incredibly proud of what we built together and deeply grateful to everyone who has been part of that journey. On 1 October, our name will change. The familiar faces, our entrepreneurial spirit, our way of working and the responsibility we feel for our clients’ success will not.A new name-The same DNA, a much bigger canvas for what comes next. #devon #emagine
