Over the years, I've seen the sustainability conversation evolve significantly. There was a time when sustainability was often viewed as a separate business objective. Today, many of the customers we work with at Dematic are approaching it through a much broader lens: • How do we improve efficiency? • How do we extend the life of existing systems? • How do we maximize the value of the investments we've already made? What I'm seeing is a shift from sustainability as a standalone initiative to sustainability as a business strategy that is embedded in how organizations design, operate, and optimize their supply chains every day. As I discuss in the video below, efficiency, uptime, and sustainability are increasingly part of the same conversation. In many cases, the most sustainable solution is not replacing a system. It's helping an existing system continue to perform, adapt, and deliver value for years to come. That's where modernization, lifecycle support, and operational optimization can play a meaningful role, not only reducing waste and resource consumption, but also helping businesses achieve stronger long-term performance. I'd love to hear your perspective: How has the sustainability conversation evolved within your organization over the past few years? One thing I hear from customers all the time: capacity is rarely just about space. Growth, flexibility, and the ability to respond to change matter just as much. The wrong decision today can quickly become tomorrow’s constraint. More than 60 years ago, one of the first high bay AS/RS installations showed how using vertical space could unlock new capacity within an existing footprint. Today, software and operational intelligence are extending that value even further The customer questions remain familiar: How do we create more capacity? How do we improve performance? How do we stay ready for what comes next? Our latest Intelligence Built Over Time story explores some of the answers: https://lnkd.in/gEUmzFv7 Happy to connect and discuss what they could mean for your operation. #TheMindBehindTheMachine #Dematic

“You can’t avoid all risk, even if you build a new building.” When warehouse capacity is under pressure, building new can feel like the safest answer. But rising costs, long timelines, limited land and changing demand are making many organizations rethink that path. To break the barriers to automation, capacity needs to become a strategic question — not just a footprint challenge. In this on-demand conversation, Danielle Dakin, Global Market Development Director, Dematic, and Kim Baudry, Global Market Development Director, Dematic, explore how brownfield automation can help businesses unlock more value from existing facilities while reducing disruption and supporting future growth. From storage density and throughput to phased planning, stakeholder alignment and scalable automation, the discussion shows why the opportunity may already be inside the warehouse you have today. Your warehouse may already have the right systems. The next advantage is getting them to act as one. As volumes shift, priorities change, and automation expands, performance increasingly depends on how well people, machines, and software stay aligned. In the latest Software Intelligence Insights, we look at why orchestration is becoming so critical to warehouse performance — and what 305 warehouse decision-makers tell us about the growing importance of integration, reliability, and coordinated execution in Dematic's 2026 Global Software Study, conducted in partnership with Interact Analysis. Because when complexity increases, adding another capability isn't always the answer. Making the operation respond as one is. See what orchestration can change for your operation 👇
