This week, bold new guidelines were sent to CDJR dealers across the country, including a new restriction limiting groups to one CDJR acquisition per year. Why the new draconian guidelines? In 2025, 21% of all dealership trades were CDJR, despite CDJR representing only 13% of total rooftops. Carvana alone has acquired five CDJR rooftops in the past 12 months, and other specific automotive groups have been very public about their desire to aggregate more points. The retail world has turned bullish on CDJR given lower historical valuations and an upcoming product cycle that includes the reintroduction of V8 offerings for Dodge and Ram. This is all about network control and management. Dave Cantin Group (DCG) continues to stress that manufacturers are actively seeking more control and influence over their networks, and each is pursuing this goal in different ways. Dave Cantin Group doesn’t just help our clients transact; we work with them to develop the right M&A strategies for their platform. We guide our clients through these types of changes to the M&A landscape. Whether you're building the empire, managing growth carefully, or beginning a succession plan, we’re the only M&A firm that has invested in the data, insights, and resources required to help you make the right strategic choices. 🔗 Seeking strategic insights?
