A lot of teams are wrestling with the same question right now: do we build something custom or do we buy a tool that already exists? And underneath that question is an even bigger one. How do we make the right call when budgets, timelines, and stakeholder expectations are all competing for attention? We’re hosting a conversation that gets to the heart of it. Merav Yuravlivker, our Chief Learning Officer at Data Society, and Ibanga Umanah, Co-Founder of BraveLabs, will walk through how organizations are thinking about AI investment decisions heading into 2026. They’ll share: How to tell when building in-house actually makes sense. When buying is the smarter, faster, or less risky path. What leaders tend to overlook when calculating ROI and true cost of ownership. Why culture and people readiness matter more than most teams expect. Real stories of decisions that worked and decisions that didn’t. If you’re leading data, tech, product, HR, learning or organizational change, this session will give you practical ways to slow the noise, clarify your options, and choose a path that actually moves your organization forward. Most organizations believe they’re ready for AI. Our new data tells a different story. The 2025 Data and AI Readiness Report is now available, and the findings highlight where leaders are gaining ground and where the real gaps remain. A quick snapshot: • Sixty-five percent of leaders struggle to know when and where to apply AI. • Only one in three organizations measure the impact of their upskilling efforts. • Just 38 percent have enterprise-wide governance in place. • Eighty-six percent say silos are still slowing AI adoption. If you want a clear view of what AI readiness really looks like heading into 2026, download the full report. Link in comments.

Data and AI transformation isn’t a solo hike. It takes executives, L&D, and data teams moving in the same direction. We help you get everyone on the same map first: assessing skills, clarifying goals, and aligning on priorities. Then we prepare the right people and deliver the work together. And we don’t disappear afterward. Peer communities, events, and ongoing support keep your teams learning from each other. Better outcomes come from people who plan, build, and grow together.

What happens when the most valuable use for data is something nobody has imagined yet? In 2011, the NIH helped build a cancer dataset for research. More than a decade later, that same data was being used to train AI models to identify potential cancer drug targets. It is a powerful example of AI for good and of what becomes possible when high-quality data is built to enable discoveries far beyond its original purpose. Join Merav Yuravlivker of Data Society and Dr. Chris Kinsinger of the NIH Common Fund for a live fireside chat on what it takes to build data that can outlast its original purpose. You’ll hear how the NIH is designing datasets for future AI applications, what Bridge2AI can teach us about long-term data strategy, and why the best data investments may be the ones that prepare you to solve problems you cannot predict yet.
