A national cyber strategy doesn’t write itself. This month we’re spotlighting a leader who drives one at the highest level. H.E. Dr. Mohamed Alkuwaiti is Head of Cybersecurity for the United Arab Emirates and Chairman of the UAE Cyber Security Council. He was appointed to the role by the UAE Cabinet in 2020. His work shows how a national cyber strategy can be led from the top, connecting government, industry, and international partners around shared resilience. What can other countries learn from the UAE’s approach to national cybersecurity?

Cyber Institute is pleased to announce that this July in Geneva, our Executive Director Andrew Vance, PhD, will be speaking at AI for Good Global Summit 2026 during International Telecommunication Union (ITU) Kaleidoscope and co-convening a session at WSIS Forum 2026. At AI for Good, Dr. Vance will present his Best Paper Award nominated research during ITUs AI and Frontier Technologies for Good conference. His paper, "Comparative Analysis of Interpretive Divergence in Externally and Regionally Trained Language Models", examines how different #AI systems interpret the same #governance frameworks and explores the implications for #transparency, #trust, cultural #sovereignty, public confidence, and public-sector implementation. At WSIS Process Forum 2026, he will co-convene Session 280, "Applying Responsible AI Governance Under WSIS+20: Strengthening Capacity, Ethics, and International Cooperation", bringing together stakeholders from government, international organizations, academia, industry, and civil society to explore practical approaches to AI governance and implementation. As AI becomes increasingly integrated into public administration and decision-making, governance challenges extend beyond technical infrastructure. Building trustworthy, transparent, and culturally informed approaches to AI implementation will be essential to maintaining public trust and realizing the benefits of emerging technologies. If you will be attending AI for Good, WSIS Forum, or related Geneva events, we would be delighted for you to connect with us. We invite you to join us for our Kaleidoscope presentation and WSIS Session 280 workshop. #AIforGood #WSIS2026 #Kaleidoscope2026 #AIGovernance #ResponsibleAI #DigitalTrust #ITU #CyberInstitute https://lnkd.in/davbd62F https://lnkd.in/gDNWkzii

Building trusted futures requires more than technological innovation, it requires the ability to evaluate how emerging technologies align with governance objectives, societal values, and public trust. This July, Springer Nature will publish our research, "Hybrid Multi-LLM and Quantum-Assisted Architecture for Trustworthy and Ethical AI Evaluation", in New Trends in Disruptive Technologies, Tech Ethics and Artificial Intelligence, part of the Advances in Intelligent Systems and Computing (AISC) book series. Our work examines how a multi-model AI system leveraging quantum-enabled methods can support more transparent, explainable, and trustworthy approaches to evaluating AI governance frameworks and emerging technology policies. The research extends our work on GUARDIAN, demonstrating how AI and quantum-enabled tools can help organizations move from policy intentions to meaningful implementation while strengthening future trust, transparency, and accountability. Follow us to learn more and be notified when the publication becomes available. #TrustedFutures #AIforGood #AIGovernance #ResponsibleAI #DigitalTrust #EmergingTechnology https://lnkd.in/gbMkAKhc

Discussions of digital resilience often focus on infrastructure: networks, cables, satellites, and data centers. These foundations are essential. But as governments increasingly integrate AI into public administration and decision-making, resilience must also be understood as a governance challenge. As International Telecommunication Union Secretary-General Doreen Bogdan-Martin observes, a world that suddenly goes offline reminds us that resilience is the prerequisite for AI, cybersecurity, and digital transformation alike. Yet resilience is about more than keeping systems online. Recent research has highlighted that different approaches can produce materially different interpretations of the same governance frameworks, raising important questions about cultural sovereignty, public trust, and policy implementation. At the same time, governments worldwide are confronting a second challenge: building the institutional capacity necessary to implement emerging technologies responsibly and effectively. As Geneva prepares to host the United Nations Global Dialogue on AI Governance, the WSIS Process+20 High-Level Event, and AI for Good, resilience may need to be viewed more broadly, not only as the ability to withstand technical disruption, but as the ability to preserve trustworthy, legitimate, and culturally aligned governance under conditions of rapid technological change. This will require not only robust infrastructure, but also strengthened capacity, ethical implementation, and international cooperation. Come join us in #Geneva or virtually to contribute to this dialogue of a trusted future. https://lnkd.in/gNxgcNXe #DigitalResilience #AIGovernance #DigitalSovereignty #DigitalTrust #WSIS2026 #AIforGood #Cybersecurity #ResponsibleAI

The Cyber Institute is proud to support International Telecommunication Union’s (ITU) #Partner2Connect Digital Coalition through our pledge: “Advancing Responsible AI Adoption and Digital Trust through the GUARDIAN Framework” As AI and emerging technologies continue to shape institutions and societies worldwide, there is an increasing need for practical, trustworthy, and implementation focused approaches to governance. Developed as a civil society-led and public-interest initiative, GUARDIAN is designed to support responsible AI adoption and strengthen digital trust through multilingual policy analysis, governance evaluation, and implementation-focused governance capacity building. Through this pledge, Cyber Institute affirms its commitment to advancing responsible AI adoption, sovereign governance capacity, and international collaboration in support of trusted digital futures. We look forward to sharing more about GUARDIAN (https://lnkd.in/gvKjfkQj) and engaging with the global community during World Summit on the Information Society (WSIS) Forum 2026 in Geneva this July. #ITU #Partner2Connect #WSIS #AIGovernance #DigitalTrust #AIforGood #Cybersecurity #AI #EmergingTechnology
