Your AI policy covers laptops and the browser. Your cloud controls cover the applications your teams sign up to. Now name the control that decides which AI services can be used on the phone in your employee's hand. For most organisations that takes a while to answer. Mobile sits outside the perimeter AI governance programmes were built around, and MDM was designed to manage devices and apps rather than to show which services a device is talking to. Corrata lets you decide which AI services are approved for work phones and applies that automatically. Approved tools keep working as normal. See where mobile sits in your AI governance model.

Most data loss to AI services starts with someone trying to work faster. A contract pasted into a chatbot for a plain English summary. A spreadsheet uploaded because tidying it up by hand would take the afternoon. Nobody set out to leak anything. The information left the organisation anyway. Enterprise DLP was built around email, laptops and file shares. It has far less to say about a phone on a mobile connection sending information out to an external service. Corrata inspects traffic on the device to detect sensitive company information going to external services, deliberately or by accident. See where AI fits into your data loss picture.

Data loss prevention was built for laptops, file servers and corporate networks. That is where the controls run and where the reporting comes from. Most employees now read email, open documents and use AI on a phone, and the tooling cannot follow them there. Conventional endpoint data loss prevention depends on operating system access that iOS and Android do not grant to third parties. A suite that works well on Windows cannot be extended to a phone by buying more of it. One channel stays observable. Any upload to a file sharing service, or prompt sent to an AI assistant, produces traffic. Corrata inspects that traffic on the device and reports which services are in use and how much data moves through each one, without decrypting the contents. If you are mapping data loss prevention coverage this year, mobile is worth treating as its own exercise.

Shadow AI reviews usually start with cloud application logs and traffic from the office network. Work phones spend most of the day on neither. Someone using a consumer chatbot on a mobile connection leaves no trace in the places security teams normally look. Neither does AI that sits quietly inside apps that were never sold as AI apps. Corrata inspects traffic on the device itself, so you can see which AI services your phones are actually reaching, and flag or block the ones you have not approved.

Score your mobile data loss prevention across six risk areasMobile device management separates corporate and personal data on a phone, and restricts movement between managed and unmanaged apps. That is containment, and it works. Data loss prevention is concerned with something else: what happens to data as it moves. Once a file leaves the container, containment has nothing further to tell you. That includes anything happening in a browser, in a personal app, or through a personal account. Most organisations have never scored that gap. Our DLP Audit Guide is a scorecard across six areas where data now commonly leaves, including unmanaged devices, unsanctioned apps, off-channel communication and AI tools. Score each one and you can see which gap is largest and what to fix first. Download the guide and benchmark your own position.

For a growing number of employees, the phone is now the main way they use AI. Photograph a document, ask a model to make sense of it, act on the answer before opening a laptop. Security architecture has not caught up with that shift. The work phone is still treated mainly as a device to be managed, rather than as a place where AI use needs governing. Our view is that the next generation of AI governance will be judged on whether it reaches the mobile workspace at all. That is the problem Corrata is built around. Read our thinking on AI governance beyond the desktop.
