Clint Maples avoids cybersecurity podcasts. He was nervous about cooking on camera. He almost didn't say yes. But something about the kitchen changed everything. "It doesn't feel as formal and stuffy… you can be maybe a little more vulnerable." That's the point. Cooking with CISOs isn't another talking-head interview or stiff panel discussion. It's a space where security leaders can drop the armor, share real stories, and connect over something as simple as making a meal together. If traditional formats have never felt right to you, this one might. We had the incredible opportunity to cook alongside Gil Geron, CEO of Orca Security, in the vibrant setting of Las Vegas. As we crafted a delicious shakshuka, Gil shared powerful insights about bridging the gaps between DevOps and security teams. He highlighted the importance of a seamless connection, reducing risks, and embracing AI to stay ahead of threats. Discover how a shared meal can ignite innovative ideas and see Gil's passion for connecting people and technology in action. https://lnkd.in/gTHbnrZD

The real challenge in cybersecurity isn’t identifying vulnerabilities or technical flaws. The tools to find issues already exist. The real challenge is connecting the people responsible for solving them. On our upcoming episode of Cooking with CISOs, Gil Geron, CEO of Orca Security, emphasized that progress depends on bridging the gap between DevOps engineers and security teams - two groups that often work in silos with different priorities and communication styles. Until those teams learn to collaborate effectively, even the most advanced technology will fall short. According to Gil, security maturity isn’t defined by how many problems an organization can detect. It’s defined by how well teams can align around shared goals, communicate clearly, and maintain a consistent security mindset across the company. When that connection exists, an organization can truly elevate its security posture. When it doesn’t, every effort becomes reactive instead of strategic. Gil and I are going to break this down as we bring together his signature dish - SHAKSHUKA! (yum.) Join us on Sunday, October 26th at 12pm CDT to watch his episode live! CISOs are exhausted by vendor dinners. The forced conversation. The awkward pitches between courses. The same steak at the same restaurants with the same forgettable small talk. Debra Brown, AVP of Sales, West at Pentera, felt it too...until she tried something different. Cooking with CISOs gave her a chance to show up as a human, not a quota. No scripts. No slide decks. Just a warm kitchen and a real conversation. If you're a cybersecurity vendor looking for a better way to build relationships with security leaders, this is it. I asked Gil Geron, CEO of Orca Security: AI in security v. securing AI? GO! He shared that the developers are already using it, the velocity has already increased, and the change has already arrived. Will security teams will evolve fast enough to remain relevant? THIS is where the real opportunity lies. Instead of being the department that says "no" to AI-assisted development, security needs to become the department that says "yes, AND here's how we do it safely at scale." Because if 70% of code is AI-generated and velocity is 10x what it was two years ago, traditional human-led security reviews become a bottleneck. You simply cannot manually review, test, and secure code at that pace. The path forward requires a fundamental mindset shift: Security teams must weaponize AI to secure AI. This means automated security testing that scales with AI-generated code velocity. AI-powered threat detection and penetration testing. Platforms that can review, analyze, and flag risks at machine speed. Security protocols designed for continuous, automated deployment. This transition will be uncomfortable. It requires security professionals to move from being gatekeepers to being architects of intelligent systems. It demands learning new tools, trusting automation, and accepting that human oversight will increasingly focus on exceptions rather than reviewing every line. Gil and I are going to break this down on his upcoming episode of Cooking with CISOs, airing October 26, 12pm CDT.
