Clarus’ James Irvine, GM Future Fuels, and David Innes, Chief Engineer, had the pleasure of judging at STEMFest 2025 in Taranaki. Students impressed them with their creativity, technical skills and teamwork, from cost-effective home heating solutions to exploring the effect of coffee grinds on plant growth. This year, STEMFest welcomed 230 students from 13 schools, with Clarus supporting two categories: the Mātauranga Māori Award and the Kura STEM School Support Award, helping broaden the event’s reach and inclusivity. We’re proud to support STEMFest that helps to inspire the next generation of scientists, engineers and problem-solvers! We were thrilled to welcome Richie McCaw, former All Blacks captain and iSPORT Foundation co-founder, to our Bell Block site in Taranaki! Richie toured our Firstgas control room and Metering Lab, met some of our Clarus team and their children, answered questions, signed iSPORT rugby balls and joined a lively game of touch rugby with the kids and a few enthusiastic parents! Through the Good Energy Fund, Clarus is proud to support iSPORT’s SPORTME TOO and ACTIVE KIDS programmes, helping young people stay active, build confidence, and enjoy the many benefits of sport. We’re excited about the positive impact iSPORT will continue to have for young people throughout NZ. #Clarus #GoodEnergy #iSPORTFoundation #RichieMcCaw Read the full article here 👉 https://lnkd.in/gUJGRN5j

We’re proud to announce a new partnership between Clarus and the iSPORT Foundation, co-founded by Richie McCaw and Dan Carter, to help more young New Zealanders stay active, connected and confident through sport. iSPORT is the first recipient of the Clarus Good Energy Fund, established in 2024 to support organisations driving long-term environmental and social impact. As our CE Paul Goodeve says, “Energy is what we do, but it’s people we do it for.” Our support will go directly to iSPORT’s SportMeToo and Active Kids programmes, which remove barriers and open opportunities for tamariki and rangatahi to participate in sport, build resilience and realise their potential — no matter their circumstances. As Richie McCaw notes, “Sport has the power to lift communities, build confidence, and give young people a strong platform for their future.” We’re excited to welcome Richie to our Bell Block site this week to kōrero with our Clarus whānau about this partnership and the positive impact it will have in Taranaki and across Aotearoa. Sustainability isn’t just a goal; it’s how we’ll build a resilient, low-emissions future for New Zealand. The Government’s new Statement on Biogas recognises the pivotal role #RenewableGas can play in decarbonising our energy system. As Hon. Simon Watts MP FCA Minister for Energy, said: “This Government supports a renewable gas market in New Zealand… Biogas can strengthen our energy security, decarbonise hard-to-electrify sectors and create new opportunities for innovation and investment.” At Clarus, we’re proud to see this in action 🔄 In Reporoa, Ecogas leads the anaerobic digestion process, while our First Renewables team upgrades that biogas into biomethane ready for New Zealand’s existing gas network.
