Downtown Edmonton is getting a renewed sense of energy, thanks to the revitalization of Beaver Hills House Park and Michael Phair Park. As part of the City’s goal of upgrading the downtown core, our team is helping transform these spaces into a more welcoming destination where people can gather, play, and enjoy the city. From upgraded underground utilities to new features like a bouldering wall, accessible washrooms, and a beaver-themed playground, every detail reflects the care and collaboration that went into the work. It’s more than construction. It’s about helping Edmonton’s downtown thrive, one space at a time. Who do you work safely for? We handed out hard hat decals across our job sites for people to write down their reason to work safe. It could be a name, a reminder, or a personal why. “Be Safe. They Count On You.” is more than a slogan. It’s a reminder that every decision we make on site reaches beyond ourselves. It affects our coworkers, families, friends, and the communities around us. Each time someone puts on their hard hat, that decal is there to remind them that the most important thing they'll build is the way back to the people who matter most. Why do you work safe? #ConstructionSafety #ConstructionLife

“It’s an architectural and engineering challenge. The preconstruction was nearly flawless on this build. We worked months in advance with occupancy checklists, schedules, engineer drawings, all those things come into play.” – Dustin Zinter, Superintendent The new Centre for Indigenous Law at the University of Victoria was a complex project with no square angles and a focus on Indigenous design elements. By repurposing trees from the original site as structural columns, the team brought the forest to life indoors, creating a natural atmosphere for students, staff, and visitors. The connection to culture continues throughout the building, with specialized ventilation systems to accommodate smudging ceremonies, and an Elder’s deck at the back of the building provides gathering space. Our team worked closely with the University, consultants, and sub-trade partners to finish the project on time for the school year. Sustainability was a priority throughout the project; the building is powered by electric boilers and is targeting LEED Gold certification.
