Read the blog: https://lnkd.in/g9hnaJRz Celemics evaluated libraries prepared with its Library Preparation Kit and Custom Capture Panels on both Element Biosciences AVITI and Illumina NextSeq 500 using the same analysis pipeline. The results showed comparable sequencing performance between the two platforms across both panels tested. For laboratories considering multiple sequencing platforms, this means the same Celemics library preparation workflow can be applied to both AVITI and Illumina—without maintaining separate preparation workflows. Explore the full comparison and detailed results in our latest blog and Application Note. (🔗https://lnkd.in/gm8gxW5V) Environmental and animal-derived samples often present significant challenges for viral NGS. High host background can reduce the proportion of informative viral reads, while heat treatment, lyophilization, and natural degradation can lead to extensive RNA fragmentation. Our latest blog explores how Viral Target Capture can support viral genome analysis in these challenging sample types, including: • Adventitious virus detection • High-Ct, wildlife-derived Influenza A samples • Avian Influenza H5 detection in wastewater samples The validation results demonstrate how targeted enrichment can improve the recovery of viral genomic data while reducing the impact of high host background and sample degradation. #viralngs #targetcapture #pathogengenomics #animalhealth #wastewatersurveillance #avianInfluenza #wholegenomesequencing #celemics

But effective design involves more than simply covering the target regions. In our latest blog, Celemics shares how RNA probes, 2X tiling, probe modifications, and rebalancing based on actual wet-lab data are incorporated into its panel design approach. We also discuss why panel performance should be evaluated transparently including regions that are inherently difficult to capture rather than simply excluding them from performance metrics. #ngs #probedesign #targetenrichment #targetedsequencing #hybridcapture #celemics

Read more: https://lnkd.in/dEaZ3NWf As genomic surveillance becomes increasingly important for emerging infectious diseases, whole-genome analysis is critical for variant tracking, phylogenetic analysis, and outbreak investigation. In our latest blog, we share validation data generated using the Celemics Hemorrhagic Fever Syndrome Panel applied to Hantaan virus clinical specimens. Key highlights: • ≥95% 10x whole-genome coverage at Ct 30.9 • Stable performance in low viral load clinical samples • Simultaneous analysis of 10 Hantavirus species • Species-specific blocker technology for improved enrichment efficiency Explore how NGS-based target enrichment enables reliable pathogen genomics beyond conventional PCR-based detection. #ngs #hantavirus #pathogengenomics #genomicsurveillance #targetenrichment #wholegenomesequencing #infectiousdisease

Read more: [https://lnkd.in/dinzSyiK] In Native DNA + Adaptive Sampling workflows, sequencing pores spend substantial resources rejecting non-target reads because the absolute proportion of target DNA remains low. Our latest blog explores how combining Hybrid Target Enrichment with ONT Adaptive Sampling changes sequencing efficiency by increasing target density before sequencing begins. 𝗞𝗲𝘆 𝗼𝗯𝘀𝗲𝗿𝘃𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀: • Up to 96% on-target ratio with TE + AS • Reduced uncovered regions across multiple cancer panels • Higher mean depth coverage compared to conventional workflows • Improved sequencing resource utilization for small target panels Rather than replacing Target Enrichment, Adaptive Sampling becomes significantly more effective when combined with optimized enrichment workflows. #ngs #longreadsequencing #oxfordnanopore #adaptivesampling

𝗜𝗳 𝗣𝗖𝗥 𝗮𝗺𝗽𝗹𝗶𝗰𝗼𝗻 𝘀𝗲𝗾𝘂𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗮𝗹𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗱𝘆 𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗸𝘀, 𝘄𝗵𝘆 𝘂𝘀𝗲 𝗧𝗮𝗿𝗴𝗲𝘁 𝗖𝗮𝗽𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗽𝗮𝘁𝗵𝗼𝗴𝗲𝗻 𝗪𝗚𝗦? It's a question we occasionally hear from researchers. PCR-based amplicon sequencing remains an excellent approach for well-characterized targets. However, real-world clinical and environmental samples are often more challenging—pathogen abundance may be low, nucleic acids may be fragmented, and new variants continue to emerge. In these situations, sequencing performance depends not only on the sequencing platform, but also on the enrichment strategy. In our latest blog, we explore why Target Capture-based WGS has become an increasingly important approach for pathogen genomic surveillance, particularly when working with challenging samples.
