You can love being a financial advisor and still dread another meeting that ends with "Let me think about it" 😶🌫️ You’ve prepared carefully, discussed their goals and explained the recommendation. The client seems to understand. Yet an hour later, there is still no clear next step. And on the way home, you’re replaying the conversation, wondering what else you could have said. It’s especially frustrating when you can see how much you could help the person in front of you. You care about getting this right. You want your expertise to make a difference in their life. But having the same conversations repeatedly takes something out of you. What would change if you looked forward to those meetings again? If hearing hesitation left you feeling equipped to continue the conversation. If more clients followed through on suitable advice. If you could finish your working day with the satisfaction of having helped, and enough energy to enjoy life outside work. That is what I created EdgeAdvise to help financial advisors work towards. One participant described struggling with 'conversations that never seemed to reach a clear conclusion". After the programme, they reported successfully concluding cases with five clients with whom they had previously been unable to find common ground. For me, that captures why this work matters. Being able to help someone move forward after both of you have felt stuck can change how you experience your role. 🎉This month, EdgeAdvise turns one. To mark its first anniversary, the five-week programme is available throughout October for €949 instead of €1 699. 💥on top of it all, it includes a money-back guarantee. If you recognise these conversations and want them to feel different, send me a message or comment EDGE. We can explore whether it fits what you want to change in your practice.

The cost of client hesitation for an advisor is not only the missed transaction. A client delays investing, holds excess cash, avoids suitable risk, or reduces exposure at the wrong time. You can measure some of that. Lower AUM. Lower product penetration. Lower conversion. Lower long-term returns for the client. But the hidden cost is bigger. It is the hour-long conversation that ends where it started. The second meeting that repeats the first one. The high-probability prospect who understands the recommendation but says: I would rather be cautious for now. The client who agreed to a long-term strategy and then questions everything after one bad month. That is expensive not only commercially but psychologically. It is the ache of sitting across from someone who could benefit from your advice, while watching them organise every decision around avoiding discomfort. It is the energy spent answering endless "what ifs", reassuring the same fears and repeatedly explaining why suitable risk is not the same as reckless risk. It is noticing that you would rather postpone a call with one of the clients you have quietly started to think of as "difficult" The energy you put into managing relationships rather than money. Over time, the role can begin to feel less like advisory work and more like repeatedly trying to pull clients away from the safest-looking option: Cash, deposits, waiting, selling, "doing something to stop the pain". I do not think this is simply part of the job that advisors have to accept. ⚠️ Client hesitation is the visible result of a perception the advisor has not yet learned to read. A perception of risk, of safety, of timing, of regret, control or what it would mean to make the wrong choice. Once you can see what is shaping the client’s conclusion, you can work with the perception that is determining what the client can hear and what feels possible to them. 🔢 That is the basis of my Perception-to-Action Method. 💥 And it is what I will be helping financial advisors experience during my free online sprint: The Meeting That Moves Cautious Clients On 10, 11 and 13 August at 4 PM CET+2, we will look at what sits underneath hesitation and how to help clients widen the perception through which they assess cash, deposits, waiting and suitable investment risk. Because the cost of hesitation is real. But it is not a cost you have to keep incurring. 👉 Registration link in comments. See you there! Raluca

Things you do not need to move a cautious client towards a suitable decision: A cleaner projection. One more chart that finally proves the point. The same explanation, repeated more slowly. Stronger credentials. A longer track record. It is natural to reach for these. When a client continues to prefer cash, deposits or waiting, it can seem as though they simply cannot see the full picture. And you may be right about that. They cannot see it. But often, it is not because the picture has not been explained clearly enough. It is because their attention is being directed by a mental filter. They may be noticing everything that confirms the risk of investing while barely registering the cost of waiting. They may understand everything you are saying and still experience inaction as the safer choice. More information does not necessarily change what their attention is selecting from that information. Attention does not work like a neutral spotlight that we consciously point at all the available facts. It is guided by what the mind has already decided is relevant and from the inside, this does not feel selective. It feels like seeing reality clearly. That is why more information can fail to create movement. You are adding evidence to the picture while the client’s filter is still determining which parts of that picture deserve attention. To change the decision, you often need to work one layer earlier. Not only with what the client thinks. With how their mind is selecting what becomes important enough to think about. That is the layer before logic: perception filters. And learning to work there means recognising what their current perception is allowing them to notice and what it is screening out. This is the shift I will be helping financial advisors make during my free online sprint: The Meeting That Moves Cautious Clients On 10, 11 and 13 August at 2 PM CET+2, we will explore how to recognise what is shaping a cautious client’s conclusion and help them widen what they see, without pressure, argument or another hour of explanation. So they can stop treating cash, deposits or waiting as automatically safer and become ready for the next suitable step. Registration is available through the link on my profile.

The hardest part of the next few weeks will not be the analysis. Your analysis is probably fine. The hardest part will be the conversations. You will pull up the portfolio. You will walk them through the data. You will remind them of 2008, of 2020, of every correction that resolved. They will nod. They will say the right things. And then they will say they just need to get out. This is the frustrating part of being and advisors: when everything you say is technically correct and none of it lands. The problem? The investor in front of you is physiologically less able to process your argument than they were three weeks ago. Subconscious processes narrow what they perceive. More data does not fix that. A better chart does not fix that. A different kind of conversation does. I'm running a free live session on the 31st exactly on "𝑯𝒂𝒏𝒅𝒍𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒄𝒍𝒊𝒆𝒏𝒕 𝒆𝒎𝒐𝒕𝒊𝒐𝒏𝒔 𝒊𝒏 𝒂 𝒄𝒐𝒓𝒓𝒆𝒄𝒕𝒊𝒐𝒏: 𝒘𝒉𝒂𝒕 𝒘𝒐𝒓𝒌𝒔 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝒘𝒉𝒚" 60 minutes on the 𝐧𝐞𝐮𝐫𝐨𝐬𝐜𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞, 𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐜𝐞𝐩𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧, 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐥𝐚𝐧𝐠𝐮𝐚𝐠𝐞 of difficult client conversations, built for exactly the environment we are in right now. You will leave with 𝐟𝐢𝐯𝐞 𝐩𝐫𝐚𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐥 𝐭𝐨𝐨𝐥𝐬. 𝐀 𝐟𝐫𝐚𝐦𝐞𝐰𝐨𝐫𝐤 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐚𝐥𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐝𝐲 𝐡𝐚𝐯𝐢𝐧𝐠. Free. Live. 31st March 2026. Link to register in the comments. You explain long-term investing clearly. The conversation goes well. The client nods. They say it makes sense. And still…in the end you hear: “I'll think about it.” "Let's wait a bit more" You leave the meeting knowing nothing will happen. Again. If you're an advisor, you know this pattern. Some clients resist the idea of long term strategy or planning. It's as if they understand it but ..don't get it. They don't disagree with the logic but are not comfortable committing either. 𝐇𝐞𝐬𝐢𝐭𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐢𝐬 𝐞𝐱𝐩𝐞𝐧𝐬𝐢𝐯𝐞. 𝐍𝐨𝐭 𝐣𝐮𝐬𝐭 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐜𝐥𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐛𝐮𝐭 𝐚𝐥𝐬𝐨 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐲𝐨𝐮. Because what follows is: • another follow-up • another call • another explanation • another round of convincing Time that could have gone into managing money. Analyzing markets. Serving clients who are ready. Instead, you’re stuck in circular conversations. If you’re an advisor, this is draining. 𝐘𝐨𝐮 𝐝𝐨𝐧’𝐭 𝐦𝐢𝐧𝐝 𝐰𝐨𝐫𝐤𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐡𝐚𝐫𝐝. 𝐁𝐮𝐭 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐝𝐨 𝐦𝐢𝐧𝐝 𝐰𝐚𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐝 𝐞𝐟𝐟𝐨𝐫𝐭. You do mind meetings that end where they started. Here’s the shift: When you understand what creates that hesitation toward long term commitment, you start speaking differently. You help clients see why delaying hurts them. Why commitment is not the loss of flexibility. Why “waiting” is also a decision, with consequences. This type of resistance it’s about internal pressure the client itself doesn’t fully understand. When you change that you get: • Better follow-through • More trust • Less frustration • Fewer draining meetings • Higher quality relationships Advising becomes lighter. 𝐎𝐧 23 𝐅𝐞𝐛𝐫𝐮𝐚𝐫𝐲, 𝐈'𝐦 𝐡𝐨𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐚 𝐟𝐫𝐞𝐞 60-𝐦𝐢𝐧𝐮𝐭𝐞 𝐥𝐢𝐯𝐞 𝐬𝐞𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧: “𝐈𝐟 𝐥𝐨𝐧𝐠-𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐦 𝐢𝐧𝐯𝐞𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐢𝐬 𝐬𝐨 𝐨𝐛𝐯𝐢𝐨𝐮𝐬, 𝐰𝐡𝐲 𝐝𝐨 𝐬𝐨𝐦𝐞 𝐜𝐥𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐬 𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐢𝐬𝐭 𝐢𝐭?” We’ll explore: • What sits behind this hesitation • How to reframe commitment without pressure Built specifically for advisors who are tired of going in circles. Register here https://lnkd.in/dvGVSMU6 For any questions or details message me (Raluca Filip, CFA, PRM ) 💬 And I'm curious, how often do you see this pattern? Don't you hate it when meetings end with no conclusion?👇

You imagined being an advisor would be about giving good advice and helping clients make smart financial choices. Not about circling the same conversation. Not about carrying someone else’s indecision. It’s not the markets that exhaust you. It’s the hesitation. You explain the long-term strategy. You show the data. You answer every objection. They nod. They agree. “It makes sense.” And then: “Let’s wait.” “I’ll think about it.” Because the issue is not always understanding. It’s commitment. And commitment is not a knowledge problem. It’s a decision process problem. And that’s a completely different skill. Come and see for yourself at my next free webinar: 23rd February: If long term investing is so obvious, why do some clients resist it? what REALLY drives resistance to long-term investment decisions and how to OVERCOME it In this free 60-minute session, we’ll unpack: • what truly drives resistance to long-term investing • why logic alone doesn’t move certain clients • how to shift the conversation so commitment doesn’t feel like loss of flexibility • how to reduce circular meetings and increase follow-through If you’re tired of “Let’s wait” conversations that go nowhere, this will resonate Registration link in comments For more details message me Raluca Filip, CFA, PRM
