Many lawyers worry that AI will make their writing robotic. Ross Guberman makes a different case: when AI is trained on real legal writing techniques instead of generic internet text, it can sharpen your structure, strengthen your verbs, and help you see choices you might miss under time pressure. That idea drives BriefCatch. It is not AI that drafts for you, it is AI that teaches you to write with more clarity, punch, and precision. BriefCatch distills the techniques from Point Made and the rest of Ross’s teaching into a writing tool that delivers those insights right inside Word. To learn more you can book a demo with one of our BriefCatch experts---> https://lnkd.in/egHziQqA #legalwriting #AIinlaw #lawfirmlife #BriefCatch #PointMade #legaltech #professionaldevelopment #lawyers #lawyerAI #AItools #briefcatch #pointmade

Long before “prompt engineering” became the newest AI buzzword, lawyers were already doing it. Every memo, motion, and client letter lawyers write is a structured prompt, framed with precision, context, and logic to persuade a literal-minded reader. That same training gives lawyers a massive advantage in the age of AI. We already know how to ask the right questions, refine our inputs, and iterate toward clarity. AI won’t replace legal judgment, but it will reward those who write (and prompt) with intent.

Law schools give only cursory attention to writing, leaving new lawyers unprepared for practice. From fact development to editing, the gaps are real—and costly for firms, clients, and courts. The good news? With the right feedback and tools, every draft can become a training opportunity.

💡 Are billable hours dead? Or about to be reborn? For years, the billable hour has been the lightning rod of the legal profession—criticized as outdated, inefficient, and unsustainable. At the same time, it has stubbornly endured as the business model for most major firms. Now along comes AI. Some predict it will accelerate the death of the billable hour by slashing time spent on routine tasks. But what if the opposite is true? What if AI frees lawyers to focus on the kind of high-value work that actually strengthens the case for billable hours? 👉 What do you think: Will AI finally kill the billable hour? Or will it make each hour more valuable than ever? Here's what Ross Guberman has to say... #legaltech #lawandai #AIlaw #legalresearch #legalwriting #billablehours #AI #lawfirms #litigation #lawyers
