Your ARR is growing. But can you actually explain the number? At $1M–$10M ARR, growth often isn't the problem. Accurate ARR reporting is. Because things get complex fast when you're closing bigger deals more frequently. Suddenly you're dealing with multi-year contracts, indexation clauses, mid-cycle expansions with prorata logic, usage-based components with over- and underusage, and custom terms that Sales swears are "simple." Revenue goes up. But the distance between CRM and Finance grows even faster. And here's the shift I see happen at that stage: Board meetings move from "How do we accelerate?" to "Can we reconcile these numbers first?" Or worse: "Can we even trust our cash forecast if these numbers aren't correct?" I've been that CRO. Every quarter, before the board pack went out, I'd spend hours in the CRM. Pulling ARR numbers, cross-checking renewals, chasing Finance to help me model pro-rata calculations. Time I would have much rather spent closing deals. And a board pack is an official document. You can't afford a single mistake in there. The real issue is that most teams blame the CRM. But the gap sits between Quote and Cash, and that's a finance problem. If you're a CRO and Finance rebuilds your ARR in Excel every quarter, your forecast needs "adjustments" before it goes upstairs, or you can't explain deferred revenue cleanly, that's the signal. The solution isn't another dashboard. It's a revenue governance system that connects quoting, billing, and recognition in one flow. We're hosting a live session for CROs and CFOs scaling from $1M–$10M ARR on exactly this: how to turn Quote-to-Cash into a finance-proof system. 📅 March 11 at 4pm CET. 🔗 https://lnkd.in/ePHeEqaG

Most B2B SaaS companies don’t break their quote-to-cash process on purpose. They break it by growing (and most CROs don't see it coming before it's actually to late) It usually starts with a change in the GTM motion(s). You move from PLG to sales-led in SMB. Or you expand upmarket into enterprise. Or you layer PLG on top of an existing GTM motion. Revenue increases. Complexity explodes. Suddenly you’re dealing with: – High volume of mid-cycle upgrades – Indexation clauses in contracts – Multi-year enterprise contracts - Ramp up contracts based on usage – Different billing logics per region / segment And that’s where things start to break. The CRM no longer reflects reality. Teams get confused. → Finance runs manual workarounds in spreadsheets. → Board reporting becomes a monthly stress test. → New team members don't have a clue This can be a tooling problem. A data problem. A process problem. But most of all, a quote-to-cash architecture problem. If you’re a CRO or founder of a B2B SaaS company in scale mode, this is one of the most underestimated revenue risks in your business. The thing that you know you need to fix but keep postponing "to next quarter" And yes, it's not as heroic as closing "the biggest deal ever" in company history. But it's still your job to get this right, together with your CFO. And most CRO's have never done this so that’s why we’re hosting a webinar together with Younium. We’ll break down: • What actually changes in your quote-to-cash flow when your GTM motion evolves • Where SaaS companies typically lose control • How to align CRM, billing, and finance so board reporting and cash stay predictable • What roll RevOps can & should play in all of this No theory. Just a practical conversation between me Kevin Lems (with Hanna Larsson as the host) about patterns we see in B2B SaaS going from €5M to €50M+ ARR. If quote-to-cash is starting to feel fragile in your organization, this session will be highly relevant. This man gave us 96% accurate sales forecasts at the beginning of each quarter. As a CEO, there's not much more you can ask for. I could tell my board with total confidence what we were gonna close this quarter. Simply amazing. Such a good feeling. He even forecasted the in-quarter deals! Meaning he anticipated deals that weren't even visible in the pipeline yet. Just because he had such clarity on the history of our previous quarters. Now, what if I told you he did all that in HubSpot? 😁 No extra “revenue intelligence” tool that cost 15k or an expensive BI consultant. Because it doesn't have to be complicated. He simply had a very strict weekly ritual of asking the sales reps the story behind each one of the opportunities in the pipeline. The secret sauce? He knew the reps so well, he could calibrate based on their optimism or pessimism. Thank you Martijn. It was a pleasure. And it's always a great reminder that this is possible 😉
