For a decade, performance marketing was a media buying problem. Best media buyers won. Best creative won. Biggest test budget won. That still matters. But it is no longer the edge. You used to tell Meta who to reach. Now you tell Meta what a good conversion looks like, and the algorithm does the audience work. The leverage moved. Better creative on a degraded signal layer just optimizes against a distorted audience model. The brands quietly outperforming their category are the ones whose algorithms train on the cleanest data.

Most pixel migrations never get properly validated. The new pixel goes live, event volume looks similar, the team moves on. Months later, performance has drifted and nobody can pin it to the pixel. The real check isn't event volume. It's whether reported purchases match your Shopify order records. Most brands find a double-digit gap the first time they run it. What's your Shopify-to-pixel capture gap right now? <Full Breakdown in Comments>

Your server-side tracking is working perfectly. And that's the problem. It's moving bad data even faster. Generic Purchase events. Bot conversions. Mismatched consent. Broken identity graphs. All forwarded cleanly to Meta, TikTok, and Google at scale. Server-side delivery doesn't fix a bad signal. It amplifies it. Fix the input first. Full Breakdown in comments

Growth moved down the stack. Most brands haven't caught up. You used to tell Meta who to reach. Now you tell Meta what a good conversion looks like, and the algorithm does the rest. Your job is to feed it clean signal. Most teams haven't restructured around this. Performance owns campaigns. Creative owns content. Analytics owns attribution. Nobody owns the signal layer. Campaigns underperform. Diagnosis: creative fatigue, audience saturation. Meanwhile event capture sits at 68%, EMQ is 6.1, and the algorithm has been training on a systematically incomplete picture of who actually converts. That gap compounds every week. <Full Breakdown in Comments>

Meta just opened beta access to Ads AI Connectors. Advertisers can plug Meta Ads into the AI tools they already use. No custom API setup. No developer credentials. Most takes will say this changes everything. It does not. It changes the execution layer. It does not change the data layer. If the underlying signal is incomplete, duplicated, or poorly matched, the AI is just producing confident answers from a distorted view of the customer. The cost of bad signal just went up. Use the connectors. Just audit the signal layer first. The infrastructure under the AI is the work. Always was. <Full Breakdown in Comments>
