For 80 years, Birchwood Park has been one of the most important stories in British engineering. From the first meeting of the UK’s atomic energy programme at Risley in 1946, to today’s thriving nuclear community, this site has remained at the heart of innovation, collaboration, and progress. To mark this milestone, we’ve unveiled our new interactive timeline – celebrating the moments that have shaped eight decades of nuclear history, while looking ahead to the future of clean energy. Whether you’ve worked here for 40 years or have only recently joined the Park, this story belongs to all of us. This summer, head over to the EngineRooms, take a look at the timeline, explore the milestones, and discover how Birchwood became the beating heart of the UK’s nuclear sector. #BirchwoodPark #80YearsOfNuclear #NorthWestNuclear #UKNuclear
