🎓 Welcome to our Editorial Board Dr. Saida Ortolano, of the Rare Diseases and Pediatric Medicine Research Group at the Galicia Sur Health Research Institute (IIS Galicia Sur, SERGAS-UVIGO), Hospital Álvaro Cunqueiro, Vigo (Spain), has joined Biomolecules as an Editorial Board Member. Dr. Ortolano's research focuses on lysosomal storage disorders, with a particular emphasis on Fabry disease. Her work covers newborn screening and patient detection in the Spanish population, plasma biomarkers for monitoring disease progression, and therapeutic strategies ranging from pharmacological chaperones that increase α-galactosidase A activity to AAV9-based gene therapy. Her group also studies autophagy and lysosomal network defects in other rare and neurodegenerative conditions. ➡️ https://brnw.ch/21x5W32 #FabryDisease #LysosomalDisorders #GeneTherapy #RareDiseases #Autophagy

🎓 Welcome to our Editorial Board Prof. Dr. Qing-Bai She, Professor in the Department of Pharmacology and Nutritional Sciences and member of the Markey Cancer Center at the University of Kentucky (Lexington, KY, USA), has joined Biomolecules as an Editorial Board Member. Prof. She's research focuses on the oncogenic signaling and metabolic pathways that drive colorectal cancer (CRC) progression, metastasis, and therapeutic resistance. His laboratory identified 4E-BP1 as a critical node integrating the PI3K/AKT and RAS/RAF/MEK/ERK pathways in CRC and has developed a new class of natural product-based inhibitors targeting translational control. More recently, his group uncovered two novel neuropilin-1 (NRP1) splice variants that promote CRC metastasis through endosomal signaling, along with a key role for spermine synthase (SMS) in driving tumorigenesis in cooperation with MYC. ➡️ https://brnw.ch/21x5QeO #ColorectalCancer #mTOR #TranslationalControl #CancerMetabolism #CancerSignaling

🎓 Welcome to our Editorial Board Prof. Dr. Vijay K. Singh, Professor in the Department of Pharmacology and Molecular Therapeutics at the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences (Bethesda, MD, USA), has joined Biomolecules as an Editorial Board Member. Prof. Singh's research focuses on developing medical countermeasures for acute radiation syndrome (ARS) and the delayed effects of acute radiation exposure, following the US FDA Animal Rule. Several of these candidates, including BIO 300 (genistein) and gamma-tocotrienol, have reached Investigational New Drug status. His laboratory also identifies and validates non-invasive biomarkers of radiation injury and countermeasure efficacy, drawing on metabolomics, lipidomics, proteomics, transcriptomics and miRNA profiling in small and large animal models. ➡️ https://brnw.ch/21x5JFF #RadiationBiology #RadiationCountermeasures #Biomarkers #Multiomics #SignalTransduction
