An AI agent can’t fix a broken workflow. If your process isn’t clearly mapped, defined, or consistent, the agent will just mirror the chaos. The real work is designing how your business executes. That’s your secret sauce, your differentiator. Agents can eliminate repetitive tasks, but they can’t replace your responsibility to think strategically about how the work gets done. One of the best indicators that you’re ready to automate a process? You can explain it clearly. Step-by-step. If you can’t articulate the process, then it isn't ready for automation. It is something you can overcome, though! Pull in your team. Map it out. Use a whiteboard, Lucid Software, or Miro . Automation only works when a clear process comes first. Most leaders want to jump straight into automating everything, but it's the wrong approach, and I'll tell you why. If you can’t clearly explain how a process works step-by-step, you don't know what you are automating yet. Instead, start with your biggest workflow pain points. Design them. Test them.
