📈 MBOs and restructurings may be very different journeys, but both raise the same question: is the business funded for what comes next? 📰 In my contribution to the Irish Times Corporate Finance Special Report, I look at how Invoice Finance and Asset-Based Lending can support businesses through periods of change, whether thats a management buyout or a restructuring. 🚀 The transaction is only the starting point. The right funding structure should provide the working capital, flexibility and confidence needed to support the next chapter. #CorporateFinance #MBO #Restructuring #InvoiceFinance #AssetBasedLending 💼📊🤝 Read my contributions – https://lnkd.in/dQPsN5r6 https://lnkd.in/dk5xXpwB

Chef in a Box began in 2009, when @Paul Mulligan saw an opportunity to bring quality, substantial ready meals to the market. Growing demand brought increasing pressure on cashflow. Paul explains: “The business was going so well, but my debtors were just growing and growing.” His accountant recognised the problem. Some customers were taking up to 100 days to pay, leaving cash tied up in unpaid invoices just when the business needed it to #grow. For more than 13 years, #InvoiceFinance has provided a flexible source of #workingcapital that has grown alongside the business, helping Paul and Gemma pursue new opportunities while retaining ownership and control. Today, Chef In A Box has grown from around €1.5 million in turnover to almost €10 million and increased its workforce from 11 to 54 people. With a new facility and room to expand, the family-run business is preparing for its next stage of growth. Paul says of Bibby Financial Services Ireland: “Its's a really #partnership approach to growth, they've been with us every step of the way.” 🎥 Watch Paul’s story below. 👉 Read more about Chef In A Box’s journey at https://lnkd.in/e-3m2stT 👉 Talk to our team about how Invoice Finance could help your business https://lnkd.in/esQ8RdCk #SupportingBusinessAmbitions #ClientStories #IrishBusiness

In the latest A Question of Money column in the Business Post, Aoife McGinley explains how to fund growth when a major new contract puts pressure on cashflow? Winning a major contract is a milestone worth celebrating, but growth often brings upfront costs long before payment arrives. Materials need to be purchased, staff hired and suppliers paid, while payment terms continue to stretch for many businesses. Drawing on recent research showing that 69% of Irish SMEs are experiencing longer payment timelines, Aoife examines why planning for the financial demands of growth is just as important as winning the work itself.
