🔒 RF Shielding Isn’t a Silver Bullet In the latest Daly Threat Podcast, Joe Daly speaks with Dale “Woody” Wooden of Weathered Security about why RF shielding in secure facilities often fails long before anyone notices. Key Issues with RF Shielding: - RF changes constantly: Buildings shift, people move, and the “perfect on paper” model breaks fast. - Retrofitting creates new leak paths: A single metal bracket or coax line can accidentally become an antenna. - Everyday items now hide radios: Battery packs, tools, even coffee mugs are shipping with undocumented Bluetooth/Wi-Fi. - Most Faraday bags only block specific frequencies, not all and price doesn’t equal protection. - SCIFs drift out of spec: Door seals loosen, grounding changes, and unintended transmission paths reopen. Bottom line: Shielding matters, but it’s not enough. Real-time detection is essential for understanding what’s actually transmitting inside your facility. 🎧 Listen here: Daly Threat Podcast — https://lnkd.in/eR42a7jK Podcast series at https://lnkd.in/ejHKFpvY #RFDetection #WirelessSecurity #GovSec #DefenseTech #SCIF #RFSecurity #Bastille #WirelessThreats #CounterSurveillance

AI data centers are fast becoming the most valuable—and most targeted—assets in the enterprise. With centralized AI models, customer data, and proprietary algorithms stored in these facilities, attackers are finding new ways to breach defenses—not just through networks, but through the airspace. This session will explore how unauthorized wireless devices, rogue hotspots, embedded modems, and other hidden RF activity can introduce risk to AI infrastructure—and what proactive steps organizations can take to detect, monitor, and prevent them. Don't miss it! Speakers: 👤 Jeff Kernohan, CPP – Principal Consultant at ZBeta, Inc. 👤 Allen DiGerolami – Business Development Manager (Data Centers & Video Surveillance) at Hanwha Vision America 👤 Brett Walkenhorst, Ph.D., – CTO at Bastille Join us to learn how operators can gain continuous visibility into the signals, devices, and airspace activity that traditional security systems miss. #AI #DataCenter #AIDataCenter #WirelessSecurity #RF #DataCenterSecurity #ZBeta #HanwhaVision

This session will explore the hidden layer of security–the wireless devices transmitting signals you can't see–and what federal and commercial organizations alike are doing to identify, tag, and monitor those risks. Save your seat and submit a question today! Speakers: Ron Ross, Ph.D., Former NIST Fellow, and Brett Walkenhorst, Ph.D., Bastille CTO ✅ #ControlledArticles: Understand the difference between controlled and prohibited devices. ✅ The #Policy Landscape: How DOE, NNSA, and DCSA policies define and restrict devices in secure zones. ✅ #RFDetection & #PolicyEnforcement: Learn how Bastille identifies hidden and transmitting devices and integrates that visibility into security workflows with compliance teams align detection tools with the Controlled Article Registration Process (CARP). ✅ Lessons from Recent #Espionage Cases: See the collaboration between IT, security, and compliance personnel necessary to maintain operational integrity.

AI data centers are physically fortified against cyberattacks but overlooked unmonitored wireless threats create invisible backdoors. unauthorized hotspots, IoT misconfigs, and SDR spoofing can bypass every firewall you’ve built. Protect the wireless layer before attackers exploit it.

Physical investigation and remediation relies on 100% accurate detection. An AI data center’s employees or contractors may accidentally introduce mobile hotspots, USB modems, or wearable tech that bypass firewall protections and create unintended exfiltration paths and traditional security can’t always identify these threats.
