🟦 Ever wonder how rotationally molded tanks are actually made? Most people see a finished water or chemical tank — but the process behind it is what makes them so tough, reliable, and long-lasting. Here’s the quick breakdown 👇 🔥 1. Heat A hollow mold is filled with polyethylene resin, then heated while rotating on multiple axes. 🔄 2. Rotation As the mold spins, the softened resin coats the interior walls evenly — no seams, no weld joints, no weak points. ❄️ 3. Cooling & Release The mold cools and the tank solidifies into a single, seamless piece. What you’re left with is a tank that’s incredibly strong and built for real-world abuse. 💪 WHY HDPE & CROSS-LINKED TANKS ARE SUPERIOR 🟩 HDPE (High-Density Polyethylene) Excellent chemical resistance Impact-resistant Lightweight & easy to install UV-stable for outdoor use Cost-effective and long-lasting These tanks are ideal for water, waste, brine, fertilizers, and most common chemicals. 🟧 Cross-Linked Polyethylene (XLPE) Built for aggressive chemicals Higher heat resistance Increased structural strength Perfect for industrial, oil & gas, and harsh chemical applications If you’re storing something corrosive, high-temperature, or heavy-duty — XLPE is the tank you want. 🚀 WHY BUY FROM BARR PLASTICS? At BARR Plastics, we stock one of the largest selections of rotationally molded tanks in Canada. Whether you need HDPE, XLPE, or a fully customized tank with fittings, manways, baffles, mixers, heat tracing, or insulation — we build it to your spec. With 40+ years in containment solutions, we know tanks inside and out. 📞 Need help choosing the right tank? [email protected] | 1-800-665-4499 🌐 barrplastics.com

❄️🧂 Winter doesn’t wait. Your deicing equipment shouldn’t fail when you need it most. Every season we hear the same story: high-tech brine makers full of sensors, touchscreens, and “smart” components… failing the moment salt dust or brine spray gets inside. That’s why more municipalities and snow removal contractors are switching to BARR Plastics Brine Makers — built for the reality of winter, not the fantasy. 🇨🇦 Made in Canada Designed for real Canadian conditions — freezing temps, heavy salting, round-the-clock operation. 🔧 Robust. Simple. Reliable. No unnecessary gadgets, fragile electronics, or over-engineered systems. Just solid, heavy-duty components that work when everything else freezes up. 🛠️ Easy to service. Zero downtime. Every part is accessible. Every part is replaceable. And if you need anything? You can order every single replacement part, 24/7, directly from our website. 💧 This winter, don’t lose time or money to breakdowns. Secure your brine equipment now and stay ahead of the storms. 📩 [email protected] | 1-800-665-4499 🌐 barrplastics.com

😤 Tight spaces. Impossible layouts. Non-standard specs. For mechanical engineers, solving stormwater storage in a parkade often feels like wrestling with a puzzle that just won’t fit. A mechanical engineer came to us facing exactly that. They needed to install detention tanks in a parkade with zero margin for error—limited height, narrow clearance, structural columns in the way. Standard tanks wouldn’t fit. Redesigning the structure wasn’t an option. We provided the answer. Using our modular structural plastic panel system, we engineered and built custom stormwater tanks to exact site dimensions. The design included: Internal baffles for load distribution and long-term stability Optimized volume within structural constraints Integrated flanges and plumbing for a clean, efficient install The tanks were delivered, installed, and operational, no redesigns, no delays. https://lnkd.in/gtMimyj7 And just as important: the engineer knew they had a reliable partner who understood the technical demands and could support them at every step. When your project calls for precision, we’re here to help you solve it. 📩 [email protected] | 1-800-665-4499 🌐 www.barrplastics.com

This fire truck didn’t tip because of bad driving… it was the water inside.🚨💧 When liquid sloshes inside a partially filled tank, it creates massive internal force, enough to throw off balance, damage equipment, and even flip heavy-duty vehicles. That’s the hidden danger of sloshing. Every turn, stop, or acceleration sends thousands of litres of water crashing against the tank walls. Over time, that movement stresses fittings, weakens welds, and can lead to catastrophic failures. 💡 The solution? Baffle Balls. Small, lightweight spheres that float inside your tank - breaking up wave motion and absorbing energy before it builds up. ⚙️ How they work: Each ball floats freely, moving with the liquid. When the water shifts, the balls bump into each other and the tank walls, breaking up the flow. This slows down wave formation and dissipates kinetic energy keeping the liquid stable, even during sudden stops or turns. 📏 How many do you need: You’ll need enough Baffle Balls to fill your tank completely. As a rule of thumb, that’s roughly one ball per every 9.5 USG of liquid capacity. For example: 1,000 USG tank → about 105 balls 5,000 USG tank → about 526 balls 👉 Pro Tip: After installation, take your truck for a short drive to let the baffle balls settle, then top up for full coverage. Always do a quick pre-trip check to make sure your tank is properly filled — it’s a small step that can prevent major damage. 📦 Now available from BARR Plastics, ideal for fire trucks, water haulers, and any mobile tank application. https://lnkd.in/gNat5wca 📩 [email protected] | 1-800-665-4499 #BARRPlastics #BaffleBalls #TankSafety #WaterHauling #FireTrucks #LiquidTransport #Sloshing #TransportSafety #EngineeringSolutions #EquipmentProtection #Hydrodynamics

🧂❄️ Did you know you could cut your salt use by up to 75% just by switching to brine de-icing? Brine systems are changing the way municipalities, highway crews, and snow removal contractors tackle icy roads. Instead of spreading dry salt that bounces or washes away, brine sticks, creating a pre-treated surface that prevents ice from bonding in the first place. 👉 Why it matters: Save up to 75% on salt costs Reduce environmental impact from runoff Improve road safety and efficiency Keep operations running smoothly — even in deep freeze conditions At BARR Plastics, we have brine de-icing units in stock and ready to go, built for municipal, commercial, and industrial applications. 🧰 Need replacement parts? They’re now available directly on our website: www.barrplastics.com 🚜 Secure your equipment early — before winter hits! 📩 [email protected] | 1-800-665-4499 #BARRPlastics #BrineDeicing #WinterMaintenance #SnowRemoval #MunicipalServices #HighwayMaintenance #DeicingSolutions #SaltReduction #ColdWeatherPrep
