On 13 November, Aware.org and our partners stood together with one purpose. Not to celebrate a moment. But to recognise the movement. The work. The impact that is changing South Africa, one life at a time. What you see here is not an event. It is the story of effort turned into action. Strategy turned into behavioural change. Commitment turned into results. Behind every programme there is a child who can dream without alcohol touching their future. Behind every milestone there is a family kept whole, a mother supported, a driver who got home safely. Behind every step forward there are real people, real stories and lives changed in ways that cannot be measured in numbers alone. To our partners, thank you. Your trust, your collaboration and your belief in a safer and healthier South Africa make this progress real. We carry this momentum into 2026 with clarity and resolve. To reduce alcohol harm. To shift behaviour. To protect the vulnerable. To save every life we can. This is not the end of the work. This is the beginning of what is possible when we act together. A powerful moment at Aware.org’s recent FASD Roundtable - seeing all stakeholders come together in one room, united by a commitment to positive change. Partners from government, civil society and the healthcare sector shared insights, exchanged ideas and demonstrated genuine enthusiasm for finding solutions to prevent Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorders (FASD). This kind of collaboration is critical in driving impactful, sustainable interventions. Together, we can create meaningful change for children and families across South Africa. Road safety is not a single-sector challenge, it’s a whole-of-society issue. In Q1 2025, Aware.org hosted a Road Safety Roundtable at GIBS, Johannesburg, with leaders from law enforcement, government, the automotive sector, and rehabilitation experts. The outcome? A shared commitment to improved collaboration and alignment of strategies to reduce alcohol-related road incidents. Encouragingly, post-Easter 2025 recorded the lowest number of crashes and fatalities in three years - proof that collective action saves lives. Together, public, private, and civil society partners can create safer roads for all. #MakeTheRightChoice #DontDrinkAndDrive #RoadSafety
