𝗔𝗿𝗲 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗯𝗲𝘀𝘁 𝗽𝗲𝗼𝗽𝗹𝗲 𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗹𝗹 𝗮𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗮𝘀 𝗺𝗶𝗱𝗱𝗹𝗲𝘄𝗮𝗿𝗲? In manufacturing, the most critical connections often aren’t software integrations. They’re the people who’ve been holding everything together for years. - Supervisors reconciling numbers before the morning meeting. - Planners maintaining spreadsheets only they know how to update. - Quality managers who know which report to trust when two systems disagree. That tribal knowledge is invaluable. But when visibility depends on a handful of experienced people instead of shared, real-time information, it quietly creates risk. How many people does it take in your plant to explain why yesterday’s production target was missed? In some facilities the answer takes a few minutes. In others it becomes a cross-department conversation, reports compared, spreadsheets opened, more time spent reconciling the numbers than solving the problem. By the time everyone agrees on what happened, half the day is gone. That usually isn’t a people problem. It’s a visibility problem. And small gaps in visibility limit OEE improvements more than most teams realize. The biggest gains often come from shortening the time between something happening on the shop floor and everyone knowing about it, so critical knowledge lives in the process, not just in a few key heads. How does critical information get shared in your plant? We'd love to know.

𝗛𝗼𝘄 𝗺𝗮𝗻𝘆 𝗽𝗲𝗼𝗽𝗹𝗲 𝗱𝗼𝗲𝘀 𝗶𝘁 𝘁𝗮𝗸𝗲 𝘁𝗼 𝗲𝘅𝗽𝗹𝗮𝗶𝗻 𝘄𝗵𝘆 𝘆𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗱𝗮𝘆'𝘀 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗱𝘂𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝘁𝗮𝗿𝗴𝗲𝘁 𝘄𝗮𝘀 𝗺𝗶𝘀𝘀𝗲𝗱? In some plants, the answer takes a few minutes. In others, it becomes a conversation between production, maintenance, planning, and quality. Reports get compared. Spreadsheets get opened. People spend more time reconciling the numbers than solving the problem. By the time everyone agrees on what happened, half the day is gone. That usually isn't a people problem. It's a visibility problem. When production data lives in multiple systems or in the heads of a few experienced employees it takes longer to understand what's happening on the shop floor. And when answers are delayed, so are the decisions that improve OEE. The biggest gains often come from shortening the time between something happening on the shop floor and everyone knowing about it. It all comes back to making sure critical knowledge lives in the process not just with a few key people. I'd be interested in hearing how your team approaches this today. ⬇️ Get our Special Report –The Hidden Cost of Mistaking Visibility for Manufacturing Execution: https://lnkd.in/ec-HpKWt/?utm_campaign=Engagement-post-9/1/2026&utm_source=linkedin&utm_medium=paid&utm_id=1195193596&hsa_acc=512331361&hsa_cam=1195193596&hsa_grp=873482766&hsa_ad=1586293276&hsa_net=linkedin&hsa_ver=3 #Manufacturing #OEE #Industry40 #SmartManufacturing #IndustrialAutomation #DigitalTransformation

𝗜'𝗺 𝗰𝘂𝗿𝗶𝗼𝘂𝘀: 𝗛𝗼𝘄 𝗾𝘂𝗶𝗰𝗸𝗹𝘆 𝗰𝗮𝗻 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝘁𝗲𝗮𝗺 𝗮𝗻𝘀𝘄𝗲𝗿 𝗮 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗱𝘂𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗾𝘂𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝗳𝗶𝗱𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲, 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵𝗼𝘂𝘁 𝗵𝗮𝘃𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗼 𝗽𝗶𝗲𝗰𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘀𝘁𝗼𝗿𝘆 𝘁𝗼𝗴𝗲𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿? In some plants we’ve worked with: a few minutes. In others: a meeting between production, maintenance, planning, and quality… spreadsheets open… reports compared… half the morning gone before anyone agrees on what actually happened. That’s rarely a people problem. It’s a visibility and governance problem. When the data lives in multiple systems — or in a few people’s heads — understanding the shop floor becomes a scavenger hunt. And every hour spent reconciling numbers is an hour not spent improving OEE. The biggest gains often come from one simple shift: shortening the time between something happening on the floor and everyone knowing about it. Critical knowledge belongs in the process, not locked with a handful of people. The plants that win are the ones that pull that knowledge out of silos and into a single source of truth — so everyone sees the same picture, in real time. ⬇️ Get our Special Report –The Hidden Cost of Mistaking Visibility for Manufacturing Execution: https://lnkd.in/ec-HpKWt/?utm_campaign=Engagement-9/17/2026&utm_source=linkedin&utm_medium=paid&utm_id=1207576656&hsa_acc=512331361&hsa_cam=1207576656&hsa_grp=910709226&hsa_ad=1640207356&hsa_net=linkedin&hsa_ver=3 #Manufacturing #OEE #ManufacturingExecution #SmartManufacturing #Industry40 #DigitalTransformation

𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁’𝘀 𝘁𝗿𝗶𝗯𝗮𝗹 𝗸𝗻𝗼𝘄𝗹𝗲𝗱𝗴𝗲 𝗰𝗼𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗸𝗽𝗹𝗮𝗰𝗲? Every manufacturer has it: the shortcuts that aren’t in the manual, the one person who knows which report to trust, the unwritten workarounds that keep production moving. It’s valuable… until that person leaves, retires, or calls in sick. Then the knowledge walks out the door with them. We see it in action in almost every manufacturing we visit. It’s invaluable. It also poses one of the biggest risks we see. People change jobs. They retire. They move on. Their unwritten knowledge goes with them. Critical information that should be visible in real time is stored in people’s heads. This leads to gaps in visibility and reporting that limits OEE. This is one of the things MES applications like PLEX solve. They make it easy to take tribal knowledge and unify data, unlock operational improvements and meet your changing needs. I’d be interested in hearing whether your team's knowledge is being shared across the organization or concentrated in just a handful of people. ⬇️ Get our Special Report –The Hidden Cost of Mistaking Visibility for Manufacturing Execution: https://lnkd.in/ec-HpKWt/?utm_campaign=Engagement-post-9/1/2026&utm_source=linkedin&utm_medium=paid&utm_id=1195193596&hsa_acc=512331361&hsa_cam=1195193596&hsa_grp=873482766&hsa_ad=1597833716&hsa_net=linkedin&hsa_ver=3 #Manufacturing #TribalKnowledge #MES #OEE #SmartManufacturing #Industry40
