Important and widely relevant research using the Atropos Health platform, GENEVA OS®, was published in Society of Hospital Medicine's Journal of Hospital Medicine by authors affiliated with Stanford University and Atropos Health. With the rapid rise in GLP-1 use for the treatment of diabetes and obesity, researchers wanted to know if the potential for muscle mass loss associated with these medications affects patient resilience during critical illness. The retrospective cohort study evaluated de-identified Stanford Health Care electronic health records from January 2015 to July 2024 to examine the relationship between prior GLP-1 agonist use and critical care outcomes. This research highlights how we can leverage existing patient data to close evidence gaps for emerging therapies immediately using real-world evidence. Great work by authors Albert Park MD, Jason Hom MD, Javier Lorenzo MD, Vidya Rao MD, Gavin Hui MD, PhD, Matthew Vickers FRACGP, MBBS, and Neera Ahuja MD, FACP, SFHM. Today we’re proud to announce the expansion of our oncology precision medicine capabilities with two major initiatives. Both are geared towards reducing administrative burden for physicians while improving outcomes for patients. First, we’ve published additional AI tools for progression monitoring for existing paroxysmal nocturnal hemoglobinuria (PNH) patients, which are now available for use by health systems. These AI tools are in addition to the previously-published algorithm to improve earlier diagnosis of PNH. And second, we’re integrating American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO) clinical practice guidelines into the Atropos Health platform to equip oncologists and researchers with the latest guidelines and information to guide evidence-based precision medicine. To learn more about the oncology product and if you are attending the 67th American Society of Hematology (ASH) Annual Meeting in Orlando this weekend, join us for a poster session led by Sandeep Jain, MD at 6 p.m. on December 7 to learn more about Atropos Health, AI models and precision medicine solutions. A new study was published in the American Heart Journal Plus: Cardiology Research and Practice by researchers from Stanford University School of Medicine, the VA PALO ALTO HEALTHCARE SYSTEM, and our team at Atropos Health. Using GENEVA OS® (Generative Evidence Acceleration Operating System), researchers analyzed de-identified real-world data from Stanford Health Care electronic health records to study thousands of patients with new-onset heart failure with reduced ejection fraction (HFrEF) over nearly 14 years. Specifically, the study looks at the impact of sustained adherence to guideline-directed medical therapy (GDMT) on clinical outcomes in older adults with HFrEF. While clinical trials demonstrate improved outcomes with GDMT, patients over 70 years old are underrepresented in these trials. This study fills that evidence gap—and the findings reveal a distinct contrast in outcomes between age groups that challenges the "one-size-fits-all" approach to treatment guidelines. The Atropos Evidence™ Agent is now integrated with Microsoft Teams. This integration allows a patient’s care team members to call the agent during a Microsoft Teams meeting, like a Tumor Board, to deliver personalized real-world evidence (RWE) during the session. The Agent allows physicians to stay in Microsoft Teams and access RWE during the discussion with the broader care team to manage complex cases and reduce delays caused by searching for answers outside the Teams meeting. “Our ongoing collaboration with Atropos Health to build AI solutions that make real-world, personalized evidence accessible within existing clinical workflows benefits the entire healthcare ecosystem,” said Peter Durlach, CVP and Chief Strategy Officer, Microsoft Health & Life Sciences. The Atropos Evidence Agent, the agentic AI solution for RWE generation, turns patient context into evidence-based answers on the clinician's behalf. Today’s announcement expands the Atropos Health and Microsoft relationship, building on the previously announced collaboration to deliver RWE within the EHR workflow at Stanford Health Care including patient information generated by Microsoft Dragon Copilot, an AI clinical assistant with ambient capabilities. The Atropos Evidence Agent now includes the ability for orchestration via Microsoft 365 and Teams where it can collaborate with other specialized agents. Atropos Health is demonstrating this capability at #MicrosoftIgnite today in a session called “Ambient Evidence Automation at the Point of Care.” "Delivering tailored, patient-specific evidence directly into the care team meeting , right at the moment it's needed will advance patient care. The team dynamic will now shift from reactive searching to proactive, evidence-driven care for every patient," said Dr. Brigham Hyde, CEO and Co-founder of Atropos Health. Dr. Neera Ahuja, Senior Vice President and Associate Chief Medical Officer at Stanford Health Care, is passionate about advancing medicine and, in particular, women's health. Dr. Ahuja is frequently asking clinical questions not only as a physician but also out of her own curiosity to see what the evidence will say. As the leader of the Atropos Health Clinical Advisory Board, she knows that real-world evidence is an essential tool for decision making. With today’s news from the FDA stating, “With the exception of vaccines or antibiotics, there's no medication that can improve the health of women on a population level more than hormone replacement therapy,” Dr. Ahuja is encouraged by the data-driven decision by Dr. Marty Makary to reverse the black-box warning on HRT. The evidence supports this decision and leads to not only an encouraging advancement for women’s healthcare but also to support the practice of evidence-based medicine. If you are a physician, and want to see the evidence that supports the FDA’s decision, create a no-cost account today and ask “Does HRT reduce the rates of chronic disease in women reaching the age of menopause?” Sign up: https://hubs.li/Q03SvY390

The latest peer-reviewed research using the Atropos Evidence™ Network was published in American Association of Clinical Endocrinology (AACE) Endocrinology and Diabetes. Researchers from Stanford University School of Medicine worked with Atropos Health to evaluate the impact of weight loss treatments on bone health, specifically the risk of fractures. The new study provides a direct real-world evidence (RWE) comparison between a common GLP-1, semaglutide, versus gastric sleeve surgery. Evaluating more than 161 million patient records from 2016 to 2023, researchers analyzed fracture outcomes in two large, matched cohorts of patients with obesity. The results offer a crucial data point for treatment selection, especially in patients with existing skeletal risk.
