A good lamp is expected to look beautiful even when it is switched off. However, with Aura, a collection designed by Snøhetta for Viabizzuno, this assumption is reversed. The starting point is not the object that contains and generates light, but light itself, its quality and the experience it creates. Viabizzuno has realised this vision with a patented optical system featuring a ring that can control the beam with extreme precision. First presented during Milan Design Week, the collection was expanded in 2026 to include a wall-mounted version alongside the original pendant. The new Jago Museum in Capri is housed in the historic Villa Lysis, designed in 1905 by Édouard Chimot in the Art Nouveau style for French poet and baron Jacques d’Adelswärd-Fersen, who made it his home. Today, the museum represents the latest chapter in the villa’s rich and layered cultural history, bringing together Jago’s artistic vision and the mission of Cooperativa La Sorte, an organization committed to promoting and preserving the area’s cultural and social heritage. Developed by Light Company with Fulvio Baldeschi and Gloria Tirabasso, the lighting project responds to the exhibition requirements of the sculptures while respecting the building’s past and taking into account the strong presence of natural light that characterizes the Capri landscape. Beneath St. Peter’s Basilica lies the Vatican Necropolis, one of the most delicate and significant sites within the complex. Recently, it became the focus of a new lighting project developed through a partnership between OSRAM and Zumtobel, in collaboration with architect and lighting designer Alessandra Reggiani. Conceived as a true “restoration through light,” the project aims to make the visitor experience both safe and enjoyable without compromising the site’s conservation requirements or its spiritual dimension. From the descent along the evocative “stairway of time” to the encounter with the tomb of the Apostle Peter, light now guides visitors along a journey that Alessandra Reggiani described to us firsthand. Before Japanese brand Ambientec (Ambientec_official), CEO and founder Yoshinori Kuno spent years developing underwater housings and lighting equipment, working with technologies capable of withstanding depths of up to 100 meters. Then, in 2011, the Great East Japan Earthquake marked a turning point, prompting him to pursue a new vision: creating beautiful, valuable objects made to last. That vision became the foundation of Ambientec, where high-end rechargeable lamps emerge directly from the intersection of technological research and fine craftsmanship. Francesca Tagliabue spoke with Kuno about his journey. Read the full interview on https://bit.ly/4i4dAkK 📸 Ph.
