Ahead of AIIB’s 10th anniversary milestone on Jan. 16, this December marks 10 years since world leaders adopted the 🌐Paris Agreement. As President Jin Liqun writes in Devex, the timing of these two milestones is no accident. While negotiators at COP30 Brazil failed to agree on a roadmap for phasing out fossil fuels, countries reaffirmed their commitment to the Paris Agreement. Encouragingly, #COP30’s formal outcomes emphasize implementation, including calls for countries to develop investment plans for their nationally determined contributions and recommendations on just transition and social inclusion. To ensure the infrastructure we build today remains resilient for decades to come, we need sustainable financing at scale. At AIIB, we are committed to ensuring that at least half of our financing supports climate objectives. 🔗Read the full article: https://bit.ly/3MC84rO

Climate change has pushed global health to a critical point. Currently, 3.3 billion people face increased health risks from extreme weather and environmental degradation. Natural disasters endanger lives and strain health systems, while declining ecosystems spread disease and weaken community resilience, leaving developing countries disproportionately affected. Integrating infrastructure, health and nature is key to building a sustainable and resilient future. Here’s how development finance supports planetary health: ➡️ https://lnkd.in/dtRzYbqC
