Manufacturing isn't about producing a strong part once. It's about producing that same result every single time. Every coupon on this build will help validate process consistency across the entire build volume—giving us confidence that whether your part is printed in the front corner, the center, or the back of the chamber, the mechanical properties remain consistent. That's what separates a machine that can print from a machine that can manufacture. ✔ Full-bed validation ✔ Repeatable mechanical properties ✔ Production-scale consistency Strength isn't the benchmark. Repeatable strength is.

Two ULTEM parts can look equally successful and perform very differently under load. We printed specimens from the same spool and file under two complete thermal conditions, then tested them in ZX tension. At 120°C chamber the specimens reached 20.2 MPa and separated cleanly along a layer boundary. At the material-recommended 210°C chamber they reached 60.8 MPa. The fracture tore across more than 20 layers instead of separating along a single weak interlayer bond. That is roughly three times the strength. Watch the test and see what the fracture reveals 👇 https://lnkd.in/gfqFZJy4

“ULTEM prints fine at 120°C.” is a great myth. Once you pull it on a tensile tester it breaks apart. We have a 12-minute mini-documentary about what happens with ULTEM inside 120°C and 210°C chamber temps. Check it out here 👇 https://lnkd.in/g_J3tyyx If you don't have the time, just remember this simple fact: 💡 ULTEM 1010 keeps only a third of the mechanical strength when printed in a 120°C chamber

The recommended chamber temp is 185°C. What happens when you 3D print ULTEM below the recommendation? 🎥 We filmed a mini-documentary about it 👇 https://lnkd.in/gxpJv3u8

🔬With a 120°C chamber, $200kg ULTEM performed worse than Tough PLA. We tested printability, strength, and repeatability in 120°C vs. ≥185°C chambers. Watch the test 👉 https://lnkd.in/gdXeB8RR

At $200 per kg, ULTEM™ parts printed in a 120°C chamber resulted in PLA-like performance. At 120°C, ZX tensile strength came in at 20.2 MPa — below our Tough PLA reference of 32.4 MPa. At the recommended 210°C ULTEM came in at 60.8 MPa. Three times stronger. The fracture tells you why. The 120°C specimens separated cleanly along a single layer line — stacked, never joined. The 210°C specimens tore across 20+ layers, the way a solid material fails. We tested printability, strength, and repeatability.
