Last week, 100,000 names were carried to Pret’s HQ, nine charities wrote to its CEO, and Animal Equality launched its own campaign. The petition, 400 metres long, was carried to Verde on Tuesday by several of the UK’s best-known animal protection groups. Less than 24 hours later, Animal Equality was on the same pavement, launching its own campaign aimed at Pret's use of Frankenchickens. It’s the third organisation, after Anima and Project Slingshot, to make Pret’s accountability one of its top priorities. There were a fair few twists and turns, too; we take you through them, day by day, on our campaign page for Pret staff. Password: pret2018 .

On Tuesday, several of the UK’s best-known animal protection groups carried a 400-metre petition with 100,000 names to Pret’s doorstep. Less than 24 hours later, the pavement outside Pret’s HQ was busy again. Animal Equality has launched a new campaign calling on Pret’s CEO, Pano Christou, to publish a plan to phase out frankenchickens. It’s the third organisation, after us and Project Slingshot, to make Pret’s accountability one of its top priorities. There have been a fair few twists and turns this week, and we’ve taken you through them day by day on our campaign page for Pret staff. Password: pret2018

Nine of the UK's leading animal welfare charities have signed an open letter to Pret, and it's in the Metro, the Express and City AM this morning. They're asking Pano Christou to start moving away from frankenchickens now, not in five or six years' time. Also in the news: a new poll on what chicken Pret customers think they're eating (hint: they're way off the mark), and an estimate of what 100,000 people taking a break could cost Pret. Full story on our staff-only page.

Work at Pret? This one's just for you. On Tuesday the world's longest animal welfare petition arrives at Bressenden Place, and you get the story first. It's on our staff-only campaign page, not on our socials or in the press. The password is pret2018. Find out what's happening on 13 October, where to look if your window faces Bressenden Place or your store is on our route, and why you might spot a few of your regulars. There's also a heads-up about new findings on Pret that go public that day.

If you've taken a break from Pret, we're marching your name to Pret's front door. 🧾 100,000 pledges, printed end to end on the world's longest animal petition. You'll have to see it to believe it! Every name is a person who's had enough of frankenchicken: birds bred to grow so fast that many can barely walk. Pret promised to stop using them 8 years ago. Come and carry it with us through Westminster to Pret's head office. You might even spot your own name! Tuesday 13 October, 11:30, Trafalgar Square.

We tried talking with Pret A Manger for two years. Nothing changed for the chickens. So on Tuesday 13 October, we march. 📣 Pret promised to drop frankenchicken back in 2018. These are birds bred to grow so fast their legs often can't hold their own weight. In 8 years Pret hasn't switched a single one. So we're taking 100,000 names to Pret's front door. Every one belongs to someone who's taking a break from Pret until it keeps that promise, and we'll carry them all through central London on the world's longest animal petition. Walk with us. Trafalgar Square, 11:30, Tuesday 13 October.
