Let’s call it - payment operations is a commodity. Vertical SaaS can choose from an endless number of processor gateways or limited purpose payfacs that provide fast underwriting, streamlined onboarding, full compliance and all the rest. Vertical SaaS that are winning the revenue game are partnering with providers that can deliver in these two areas: 1. They’re offering a user experience that’s so convenient, it’s habit-forming. Paying by text and voice, adding authorized payers, paying multiple invoices at once and making future dated payments. These effectively drive adoption rates, usage and transaction revenue. 2. They’re giving their business customers an experience so useful, it’s indispensable. Flexible user fees, unique payment and recon flows for each business location, real time postback for instant verifications, subscription billing and robust reporting. Business owners have a turnkey program for managing their AR, much more than just adding a pay button. Exceptional experiences are the primary differentiator that separates market leaders from commoditized competitors. This is where we shine. While competitors focus on perfecting back-end operations, we think that the user and business experiences are the ultimate revenue driver. Our VSaaS clients agree.

Before coming to Aliaswire, Inc., I helped lead a global go-to-market team at PayPal and it’s where I learned one of the most valuable lessons of my career: if you listen with intention, the market will tell you what it needs. And if you act with intention, you can meet it. When I landed at PayPal, it was the undisputed global champion for ecommerce payments, serving every size, type and vertical across the retail spectrum. But those same retailers saw a growing disconnect between their online and instore experiences. In short order, we helped those retailers launch innovative experiences that married digital, mobile and in-person – starting with Subway where we helped them build one of the industry’s first mobile ordering and instore pick-up applications. That experience taught me to stay obsessively focused on customer signals and to take bold and decisive action in response. Today, we’re applying this lesson at Aliaswire. We have a battle-tested receivables management platform that's been deep in vertical industries, easily accessed through APIs and no-code components. So when Vertical SaaS companies told us they needed to upgrade from their basic payment provider to a more complete receivables offering, we listened and adapted. We added full Payfac services to provide the full payment lifecycle. At Aliaswire, we're not just building what we think Vertical SaaS companies need; we're building what they've explicitly told us is missing in the market. And if there's one thing my time at PayPal taught me, it's that the market will always show you the path forward if you're willing to follow it

There’s a gap between promise and reality that’s costing Vertical SaaS providers significant revenue. It’s the integration trap with embedded payments. The market is flooded with embedded payment solutions that tout "simple integration" as their primary value proposition. Dig deeper, and you'll find they've achieved simplicity by stripping out the very features that make payments valuable to your customers. Features like line-item billing. Multi-channel invoicing. Future-dated payments. Adding authorized payers. Paying by voice and text. Subscription billing. Flexible payer fees. These are table stakes for any business managing receivables at scale. Yet most embedded solutions force you to choose: accept their limited feature set or commit engineering resources to build what's missing. That’s not a partnership; it's a hidden development tax that undermines your business. This puts you in an impossible position. The ROI calculation that justified embedded payments in the first place? It evaporates when you factor in the build cost for essential features. The embedded payments decision shouldn't force you into a false choice between speed to market and feature completeness. The right embedded payments partner delivers both: seamless integration and a complete receivables management solution. I’m proud that we’re delivering that reality to Vertical SaaS customers today. One of the most rewarding and fun parts of my job is that I get the chance to meet with really smart people who are experts in their field. With our push to go beyond simple embedded payments into a full suite of Embedded AR, I keep hearing the same themes from those smart people who are building the next wave of Vertical SaaS solutions: 👉 In EdTech it’s about giving students and parents a way to manage the complex world of tuition, fees, financial aid, due dates and scheduled payments 👉 For the GovTech teams, citizens need an easy way to manage taxes, permits, utilities and fees – fully integrated with their core citizen services. 👉 And for the PropTech innovators, they want to turn a simple utility for collecting HOA fees, rent and ancillary charges into a compelling self-service tool for residents and a robust revenue management platform for property owners. The common thread? They’ve outgrown their payments provider. What they want isn’t just payment acceptance. They want a partner who can deliver more - more receivables functionality, deeper industry experience, stronger support, a richer experience for both the end user and the provider. That’s exactly what we’ve created and who we are - and I’m energized by the opportunity to accelerate growth for both our clients and their customers.

I've been meeting with a lot of VSaaS leaders who started with a simple payments add-on. It was an easy first step to complete their offering and bring in extra revenue. But now, many are running into the same issues: • Customers want more features • Adoption is low • Usage is dropping • Revenue isn’t growing When your platform reaches a certain scale, basic payments just aren’t enough. Your customers expect a 𝗳𝘂𝗹𝗹 𝗿𝗲𝗰𝗲𝗶𝘃𝗮𝗯𝗹𝗲𝘀 𝗽𝗹𝗮𝘁𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗺 that helps them collect faster, grow their own business, and stay loyal to yours. Your customers won’t wait for you to catch up—someone else will give them what they want.
