Last week at the 11th #ATRN Congress in Kigali, we were privileged to welcome Prof. Giulia Mascagni, Executive Director of the International Centre for Tax and Development (ICTD), a long-standing partner of ATAF and the ATRN. Having worked closely with the Network over the years, Prof. Mascagni reflected on ATRN’s journey, the growth of tax research in Africa and the importance of creating stronger connections between research and the policy challenges facing African tax administrations. Her reflections also speak to what ATRN has sought to build: a platform where African tax research can grow, where researchers can connect with policymakers and practitioners, and where evidence can contribute to better tax policy and administration across the continent. Watch Prof. Mascagni’s reflections on the ATRN journey and why this work matters for Africa’s tax future. #ATAF #ATRN26 #TaxResearch #AfricanTaxation
