This morning at Zip Forward, we gathered 1000+ procurement, finance, IT, and security leaders at The Glasshouse for the biggest release day in Zip’s history. Today we’re introducing AI Risk Orchestration, launching intelligent Accrual Automation, unveiling Marketplace, announcing new Superagents, and welcoming a new ecosystem of AI data partners to provide even richer context for AI to source insight from. Heading into 2026, the safe bet was that enterprise AI would consolidate around a handful of generalist platforms. Our data shows the opposite. Companies buying AI now work with 5.4 vendors on average, and 61% run five or more. Rather than standardize on a single platform, companies are accumulating vendors and a portfolio is emerging whether it was planned or not. That's a new kind of problem for procurement. Capabilities are overlapping across vendors, and AI pricing models seem to change every few months. And as the request queue keeps growing, teams have to govern what's already in the door and keep pace with a business that wants more. Here’s my bet. The next stage of enterprise AI will be less about adopting it and more about managing it: deciding where it belongs, which tools to trust, and when to add, replace, or retire applications. What do you think will be the hardest part of managing AI at enterprise scale?
