Health equity is moving to the centre of HTA and methods need to keep pace. In our latest blog, YHEC’s Hayden Holmes, Angel Varghese and Robert Malcolm discuss how distributional cost-effectiveness analysis (DCEA) is helping decision makers assess not just overall health gains, but how those gains are distributed. They explore: • What health equity means in economic evaluation • How DCEA quantifies trade-offs between efficiency and fairness • Growing international momentum (including NICE and global guidelines) • Key challenges around data, consistency, and implementation As expectations on HTA evolve, incorporating equity considerations is becoming increasingly important for robust, policy-relevant analysis. 👉 Read the full discussion: https://lnkd.in/e_hydATe. #HealthEconomics #HTA #HealthEquity #DCEA #EvidenceBasedMedicine

Can we evaluate digital health interventions more effectively by looking beyond the traditional randomised controlled trial? In his upcoming panel at the World Evidence, Pricing and Access (WEPA) Congress 2026, YHEC’s Robert Malcolm will be discussing: "Leveraging the European Health Data Space to advance reimbursement for digital behaviour change interventions." While randomised controlled trials remain the gold standard for reducing bias, they can struggle to capture the nuances of long-term adherence and real-world usage of digital behaviour change interventions. By leveraging centralised, real-world data across the EU, we have the opportunity to support more efficient reimbursement pathways by enhancing our understanding of how digital interventions perform in everyday settings and streamlining evaluation processes by pooling effectiveness data. We look forward to a nuanced discussion on how we can use better data integration to bring effective digital tools to patients more efficiently. #DigitalHealth #RealWorldData #WorldEPACongress #MarketAccess #HTA
