I spent 20 years in banking. Now I spend my days walking through factories, workshops and industrial estate and I absolutely love it! Back in 2025, my working life looked very different. These days, I’m meeting business owners who have spent 20, 30, sometimes 40 years building successful Australian businesses. Electrical contractors, manufacturers, smash repairers, air conditioning businesses and industrial services. The businesses most people drive past without giving a second thought. They’re not glamorous or trending on social media, but many have something far more valuable. Established customers, consistent cash flow and decades of trading history. What’s really interesting is the generational shift happening right now. Many baby boomer business owners are approaching retirement after spending decades building something valuable, but their children don’t necessarily want to take over. So what happens to these businesses? This is where I see an enormous opportunity, not just for investors but for everyday Australians who want to own a business without having to build one from scratch. Through WT Acquisitions and WT Investments, we’re spending our time meeting these owners, understanding their businesses and helping the next generation of buyers find opportunities. Of course, not every business is a good investment. That’s why understanding the financials, the risks and how dependent the business is on its owner matters so much. Sometimes the biggest opportunities aren’t in the businesses everyone is talking about. They’re in the businesses nobody is talking about. If you’ve spent 30 years building a business and your children don’t want to take over, what’s your succession plan? If you’re interested in acquiring an established cash-flowing business, let’s connect. www.wtacquisitions.com #BusinessAcquisitions #BusinessOwnership #SuccessionPlanning #Entrepreneurship

Take the Acquisition Readiness Index and see where you stand before you move.

Property can help build equity. But for smart investors, it's only part of the bigger picture. The next question is what you do with that equity. For some, that means exploring business ownership as a way to build income beyond property alone. If that's a path you're working toward, take our 4-minute Acquisition Readiness Index to see if you're ready to make the next move.

Everyone likes the idea of buying a business. Very few are actually ready to execute one. The difference isn’t capital. It’s: + Knowing what you want to acquire and why + Having defined criteria (size, capital, structure) + The ability to assess value and risk with confidence If you don’t have clarity on these, you’re guessing. Take the 4-minute Acquisition Readiness Index and find out if you’re ready to move… or not yet.

Acquiring a business can build long-term value for your organisation. Or erode it for years. Many buyers overestimate their readiness to assess: + Hidden risks in financials + Owner-dependence + Overpriced valuations Before you move forward, get a clear view of where you stand. Take the Acquisition Readiness Index to identify gaps and assess your readiness before pursuing a deal.

Many family offices risk overpaying. Not because they’re careless, but because gaps in acquisition readiness can make it easier to miss: + Inflated earnings + Hidden risks + Weak handover structures Before you even start reviewing opportunities, know where you stand.
