I’ve been attending and speaking at #WTMLondon for nearly a decade, and I’ve seen the conference get better and better during this time. This year, I’ve had the opportunity to help the conference evolve further, by acting as an official advisor for the Experience Hub. My fellow advisors and I are making sure WTM London’s conference delivers insights from real, lived experiences, and actionable advice that attendees can apply to their work – covering the most important topics facing tourism professionals today, including sustainability, AI, inclusivity, and how to work together with local communities. I’m looking forward to seeing our work come to fruition and catching up at WTM London this 3-5 November! After 36 years of continuous support to the World Travel Market, I am honoured to continue as an Adviser for the #WTM Conference Programme in London. This year I am delighted to support the Future Stage, where we will be envisioning the future of tourism — exploring innovation, resilience, sustainability, and the technologies that will shape our industry. WTM has always been where the global tourism community comes together to learn, connect and lead. I look forward to seeing many colleagues and friends there. As many of you know, I have spent 20 years arguing that the most commercially valuable travelers (LGBTQ+ communities, older adventurers, people traveling for wellness and transformation, intersectional travelers that don’t fit a single box) are a part of a long and beautiful economic growth story. So when World Travel Market (WTM) London asked me to join the 2026 Conference Advisory Board for the Trends Stage, I said yes immediately. In this short video, I talk about what I’ve been pushing for in the programme: sessions that treat inclusion as a commercial and economic argument, not a values one. Conversations about supply chains and who actually benefits from tourism growth. And some genuinely important questions about safety, identity, and what it costs destinations to keep ignoring certain travelers. This year’s theme: Resilience, Rebound & Reinvention is going to be different and exhilarating! We can't wait for you to join us in November. I'm an aviation professional, of 36 years standing now, so why am I so excited to be on the advisory board for the Futures Stage at World Travel Market (WTM) London 2026 - which is all about tourism?? In this short video I explain why. In summary, I explore why the worlds’ of aviation and tourism must collaborate more closely as growing demand, airport capacity pressures, AI and new technologies reshape the future of travel. Sustainable and responsible growth requires more than a good marketing plan: it depends on airports and destinations strategically planning together for their mutual long-term economic, social and environmental benefit. These are exactly the practical, forward-looking conversations we will tackle on the Futures Stage at WTM. I hope to see you there. What makes a great visitor experience, and how can those experiences also help places thrive? That’s one of the questions I’ve been thinking about as part of the advisory group helping to shape the Experience Hub at World Travel Market (WTM) London 2026. In this short video, I talk about some of the themes I’m particularly interested in: how climate change and other pressures on places are reshaping tourism, how experiences can create more value for local businesses and communities, and how we can design tourism so that positive impacts are built in from the start. These are all questions that connect closely with our work at Travel Forward (formerly the Travel Foundation), and I’m looking forward to seeing them explored through practical examples and perspectives from across the industry at WTM in November. I hope to see many of you there! All the programme and booking information you need is here: https://rxglb.co/utcIT
