Wind energy provides far more than renewable electricity. It supports industrial growth, strengthens technological expertise and contributes to greater energy security in Europe. The figures speak for themselves: 👉 More than 250 factories across Europe support the wind energy sector. 👉 More than €15 billion has been invested in new and modernised production capacity in the last three years alone. 👉 The industry now supports more than 440,000 jobs across Europe. Wind projects can create benefits beyond electricity generation. They support European manufacturing, local and regional supply chains, and skills and technological expertise across the wind industry. VSB connects its decades of experience in wind and solar project development, construction and operations with battery storage, flexibility solutions and power marketing. This integrated approach brings generation, storage and commercialisation together across the value chain. Because the energy transition is not just about building more turbines. It is also about connecting the right capabilities to contribute to a more resilient and integrated European energy system. #VSB #TotalEnergies #WindEnergy #RenewableEnergy #EnergySecurity #EuropeanIndustry

What if cleaner air could help solar power to deliver even more? ☀️ A recent study published in Nature Sustainability shows just how closely connected air quality and solar generation are. The researchers found that airborne aerosols can scatter and absorb sunlight before it reaches photovoltaic installations. In 2023, this effect reduced global PV generation by around 5.8%, equivalent to 111 TWh. This is an interesting reminder for us that the energy transition is about more than just increasing renewable capacity. Improving air quality through cleaner electricity generation can create better conditions for solar power to reach its full potential. At VSB, we therefore look at the energy system as a whole. The more intelligently renewable generation and modern infrastructure work together, the stronger the overall system becomes. Because sometimes, even the invisible factors make a visible difference. 🌍 #VSB #SolarEnergy #Photovoltaics #RenewableEnergy #EnergyTransition

🔋 Battery Storage is becoming increasingly economically attractive. While large-scale batteries were often too expensive to be commercially viable in the past, falling costs and more volatile electricity markets are now opening up new revenue opportunities. Large-scale batteries can store electricity when prices are low and release it when demand and prices rise. At the same time, Battery Storage can help reduce curtailment and provide valuable flexibility to the grid. This combination of market opportunities and system value is strengthening the case for large-scale Battery Storage projects. With VSB Battery Storage Solutions, we support projects from the very beginning: • identifying suitable sites • planning grid connections and coordinating with grid operators • technical design and system sizing • preparing and supporting permitting processes Turning the growing business case for Battery Storage into viable projects. #VSB #BatteryStorage #RenewableEnergy #EnergyTransition

The idea that renewable energy would lead to higher electricity prices is a common misconception in debates about the energy transition. So let's take a closer look. 💡 Wind and solar power do not require fuel. When they feed electricity into the grid, they can replace more expensive conventional power plants in the wholesale market. This is known as the merit order effect. Research by the Fraunhofer-Institut für Solare Energiesysteme ISE also shows that renewables, particularly onshore wind and photovoltaics, are among the most cost-efficient forms of electricity generation. At the same time, affordable energy is not created by generation alone. Modern grids, storage, flexibility and faster project implementation are also required. So, do renewables automatically make electricity expensive? Not necessarily. Well-planned renewable energy is not the cost driver. In fact, it is a key part of the solution for achieving a cleaner, more secure and more affordable energy system. 🤝 #VSB #RenewableEnergy #WindEnergy #SolarEnergy #EnergyTransition #CleanEnergy #WindEnergyMyths

Blinking lights on wind turbines can cause concern, especially for people living nearby. However, modern technology has changed this significantly. Today, many wind turbines above 100 metres are equipped with demand-driven night-time lighting systems, known as Aircraft Detection Lighting Systems (ADLS). These systems only activate the lights when an aircraft is detected nearby. 🛩️ The result is remarkable: up to 90% less light activity at night while fully ensuring aviation safety. For residents and local communities, this means a significant reduction in visual impact without compromising safety standards. Systems like these are a prime example of how innovation can improve both functionality and acceptance. For us at VSB, this is key. Developing renewable energy projects today means not only delivering clean energy, but also integrating solutions that minimise impact on communities. Because the energy transition works best when technology and acceptance go hand in hand. 🤝 #MythCheck #WindEnergy #EnergyTransition #RenewableEnergy #VSB
